Today, Ghana has become the 100th depositor in the Svalbard Global Seed Vault!
It was joined by 15 other institutions, including one other first-time depositor – the Bonn University Botanic Gardens – in safeguarding duplicates of their seed collections.
Following this latest deposit, the Seed Vault now holds "copies" of seeds safeguarded in genebanks located in 74 countries. Learn more ➡️ buff.ly/46MUzuv

We are opening PhD, MSc & postdoc positions to Ugandan biomedical & epidemiological scientists that do not agree with this stupid/discriminatory law and that may want a safe place at CERI in Cape Town, South Africa. Together, we will fight discrimination. Please Retweet
In a devastating blow to the #LGBTIQ+ community, @KagutaMuseveni, the President of Uganda has assented to the regressive Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2023. This discriminatory legislation undermines human rights and perpetuates an atmosphere of fear and persecution against individuals based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.
The impact of this decision is severe, posing a setback for the LGBTIQ+ community in Uganda and sending a dangerous precedent worldwide. We must unite in condemning this act of discrimination, advocating for the repeal of the bill, and standing in solidarity with those affected, striving for a world where everyone can live with dignity and free from discrimination.
