14 days into the Codex challenge. Thats half way.
You shipped:
• Autocomplete for your next prompt
• Reduced disk usage
• Editing previous messages in the desktop app
What we actually want:
• Enough quota to finish a real coding session
• Clear, predictable usage limits
• A fix of the bug randomly eats up all remaining usage.
• Relief from the 5-hour limit wall
• Memory that survives long conversations
• Threads that don’t break halfway through a task
Tibo, I really hope the remaining half can make a real difference.

Elon Musk proposed slowing down Starlink for Ukraine to President Trump, according to four sources familiar with the discussions who spoke to The Telegraph. One said Trump “agreed,” paving the way for the Pentagon to put speed limits on Starshield, the military version of Starlink that Ukraine uses to intercept jet powered drones and strike behind enemy lines. A European official and two Ukrainian sources confirmed that version to the paper.
The report conflicts with public statements. Musk wrote on X Wednesday that “any limits on speed or usage” are “decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS.” Trump said Friday that neither he nor Musk was responsible. A senior U.S. official told AFP the president made no such request. Reuters reported Thursday, citing two U.S. officials and a Western official, that the order came from inside the White House and reached Pentagon leaders as a message that Starshield needed to be slowed. The Pentagon has not publicly explained the restrictions.
Ukraine says the limit, about 100 mph (160 km/h), disrupted strike missions and the drones it uses to intercept Russia’s jet powered drones. Zelensky said Friday that Kyiv received signals from the White House that capabilities would be returned, but that speeds had not gone back to the previous limit.
The limit came as Washington pressed Kyiv to stop striking Russian oil refineries in an effort to relieve strained supplies.

If you haven’t realized just how privatized Trump’s ICE operations have been: every ICE detention center in California is now run by a for-profit company
These five specifically have made $3.4 billion locking up and moving people for ICE here since 2007
Nearly $1 billion of that just since Trump's second term started

A Georgia man gets tased by Coweta County deputies at a gas station over a seatbelt violation—on private property where the law doesn’t even apply. Charges dropped. He sues for excessive force.
While that lawsuit is pending, the same sheriff’s office runs his plate through Flock 5 times over 197 days, querying 6,000+ camera networks nationwide. Justifications entered: “info” and “37.”
He felt followed and watched near his home and business. Ended a 6-year contract servicing another PD’s vehicles because he no longer felt safe.
This is exactly what Flock enables: retaliation against people who challenge them.

.@KatieZacharia is not a lawyer and has never been licensed to practice law. The @WSJ reports this evening that she took the California Bar Exam but failed.
Nevertheless, Zacharia appeared on media programs for YEARS and repeatedly called herself a lawyer.

🚨Are we really getting cheaper models, or just slower ones?
I benchmarked 5 GPT models at XHigh reasoning. Here are the results:
- GPT-5.6 Sol: 102.6 tokens/s (Normal) | 168.1 (Fast)
- GPT-6 Sol: 77.0 (Normal) | 117.4 (Fast)
- GPT-6 Astra: 44.4 (Normal) | 65.4 (Fast)
- GPT-6.1 Sol: 22.3 (Normal) | 64.2 (Fast)
- GPT-6 Luna: 184.7 (Normal) | 188.5 (Fast)
GPT-6.1 Sol is 4.6x slower than GPT-5.6 Sol in Normal mode, despite being marketed as 4–5x cheaper. Fast mode boosts its speed by 188%, but it still falls far behind GPT-5.6 Sol.
Meanwhile, the $200/month plan has reportedly lost half its previous quota, and a $500 tier has appeared.
In my experience, coding tasks that older GPT models or Claude finished in an afternoon have taken weeks with Sol 6.1 without satisfactory results. I've also seen Claude Opus 5.5 reach 300–400 tokens/s.
These benchmarks don't prove intentional throttling, but the question remains:
If a model is 5x cheaper but nearly 5x slower, while quotas shrink and speed costs extra, is it really a better deal?
I'd love to hear whether others are seeing similar results in real-world coding and agentic workflow.

General Keith Kellogg:
“I would burn down every one of the goddamn refineries that Russia has today. Take them all out. It’s a military target.”
It is the fastest way to end this war, because it is the fastest way to deprive Russia from the means to wage it.

🚨 Did OpenAI secretly nerf GPT-6.1 Sol overnight?
I've been testing Sol 6.1 High, and today it's performing noticeably worse than it was just a few days ago.
Simple tasks are becoming a struggle, basic errors keep popping up, and fixing problems takes way more back-and-forth than before.
At launch, this model was seriously impressive. Now, the difference is hard to ignore.
Is anyone else seeing this sudden decline in performance, or am I the only one?

The third Yandex data center hit by drones since Oct 7. Traffic from YANDEX (AS13238) was already ~35% lower after the Sasovo strike, then fell 99% vs. last week at ~00:30 UTC Oct 11, as its Vladimir site shut down, per the company.

The winning applicant for .claw top level domain in ICANN’s 2026 round: the OpenClaw Foundation. Huge step in giving our agents a natural home presence.
Congratulations to @davemorin @steipete and the @openclaw team. Looking forward to great things crawling 🦞 across the web soon.
There are a lot of reasons to end the #DeathPenalty, but @GavinNewsom should also mention that housing an inmate for life in prison without the possibility of parole costs half as much as an execution. California could save $150 million per year by commuting all on death row.
