Free Agent guard Max Strus just signed a four-year, $63M deal with the Cavaliers this morning. Here’s how he got there:
2013-14: Unranked high school senior, commits to play at D2 Lewis University (IL).
2014-16: Started all 33 games his sophomore season at Lewis, averaged 20.2PPG, 8.4RPG, 3.5APG.
2016-17: Transfers to DePaul, sits out a year.
2017-19: Plays two seasons at DePaul, averaged 20.1PPG his senior season, goes undrafted in NBA Draft.
2019-20: Summer League/Training Camp with Celtics, gets cut. Signs two-way deal with Bulls, tears ACL.
2020-21: Signs two-way deal with Heat. Averaged 6.1PPG.
2021-23: Signs two-year, $3.5M deal with Heat, 11.3PPG in 22-23.
July 2023: Signs four-year, $63M deal to join Cavs.
