As per SOPs, such critical work must be carried out under supervision, but no supervisor was present. The weakened structure collapsed nearly 11 hours later," Kotecha said. He said he had identified serious negligence at more than 55 locations along a 2-km strectch of LBS Road a few days ago, documented them with GIS-tagged over 100 photos, and formally requested action against the contractor, raising the matter during the winter session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. The MMRDA needs to step out and actively get involved in the Metro works rather than just leaving it to consultants and teams.
