The Nobel Peace Prize has gone to Navi Pillay for promoting international law, which is the politest way a Norwegian committee has ever told Donald Trump to fuck off.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2026 to Navi Pillay “for her efforts to promote peace and international law.” Do you agree that international law is a necessity for peace and security?

Comrade @DadaMorero, @Loyiso_Masuku and @Lesufi are not fit for purpose to lead any form of government. If they did what they did to @CityofJoburgZA to a city in China, they would very quickly disappear somewhere - but they probably know that already
Comrade Dada says the ANC-led Jozi Metro administration intends to steal at least R100 million between today & November 04 before being voted out by the weary electorate. He says the plan is to disguise the loot as emergency funds used for infrastructure repairs & maintenance— in order to hoodwink our nosy Auditor-General & her people.

@USAmbRSA has a long hatred towards the democratically elected @MYANC - Bozill number 3 is not fit to be a civilised ambassador- like his US convicted criminal son, Bozill number four - he is not a well person in the head- probably some genetic defect? I dunno 🤷🏻

The annoying is that @DadaMorero @Loyiso_Masuku @Lesufi enabled all of this. But Dada and Loyisa are jostling for Mayoral candidate, whilst decent & honest @RevFChikane is side-stepped as @MYANC & @MbalulaFikile are playing factional suicide with @CityofJoburgZA
Johannesburg’s crime–council ecosystem. What will it take to stop the rot? This week @GI_TOC joins the @CDEsouthafrica for the release of Time for Action – Corruption in Joburg, the fifth report in CDE’s Johannesburg Matters: Fixing South Africa’s Growth Engine series. The report draws on a GI-TOC study commissioned by CDE which describes a ‘crime–council ecosystem’ underpinning @CityofJoburgZA. This ecosystem exploits the machinery of local government for illicit ends, contributes to failures in service delivery and undermines accountability. Register here for the report launch at 10am on 6 October globalinitiative.net/analysi…

Hello @MandyWiener - you took Secure Cab when you went for your chat with Adrian Gore. Upon your recommendation I tried to use them for my wife. Utter nightmare. The app would not connect to a driver. They took money from my credit card 4x. Did not reply to chats, nor email. 1/2

There was no phone # on the App, I had to google it. Waited ages on the phone. However when they did answer they did apologise profusely and spoke to Anika and Jada. But after recommending them to my friends, colleagues etc. I am loathe to use them again 😥

Dear @NoncebaMhlauli - I noticed you reposted this. Dunno if this is one of your better repost As my friend @maggsnaidu says below “ 30% water loss is not an achievement... you should be ashamed to brag about it...” The bar is now so utterly low 😥 very sad….
By 2031, all leaks should be fixed, with water losses cut from 58.7% to under 30%. All sewage works should be running properly. The Metro keeps its investment grade, with a public report every year so that the public can check. That’s the commitment. Published every year. #ANCManifesto2026 #VoteANC #LetsContinueBuildingBetterCommunitiesTogether

What ugly comments by @DadaMorero. What happened to being a servant of the people - he is responsible @CityofJoburgZA abysmal state. If he is not directly a criminal he must take responsibility, like @Loyiso_Masuku and @Lesufi for facilitating criminal elements in the city.
I always say I take time to reflect on events surrounding politicians before I can comment or share an opinion. Usually I decide to even hold back, considering what social media can become sometimes. In the case of Mayor Morero, and I know he apologized, someone commented when I shared Pule's post the other day and saud "he apologized, he's only human". I don't mind the apology, what I mind is the integrity of the Office he represents. I found myself yesterday once again going back to reflect on the few years that I worked in the Office of the late Mayor Isaac Mogase as an Administration Manager in the late 90's. Mayor Mogase having been an ANC Mayor, the first Black Mayor under the new democracy. What an honourable, respectable, humble man. He was from Alexandra. I suspect he probably grew up during the days of gangsterism in Alex where people carried oukapies, but he became a symbol of honour, integrity and dignity when I worked under him. I was just thinking that the way we were taught and led at the time, the love and respect Ntate Mogase had for the people and communities, what we saw done and said by Mayor Morero, would have been unheard of during Ntate Mogase's time. That was when the ANC was still respected and held in high regard. Ntate Mogase instilled values of discipline, decorum and diplomacy in us. He was a man of few words, but you just had to watch his leadership, not even what he said, to become a better person. We were young but we represented the Office well even the way we carried ourselves, with pride, wearing stilettos in those corridors of the Metro Centre. 😅 When Joburg was still Joburg. Councillors during that time included people like Kenny Fihla, the current CEO of ABSA Group, Parks Tau, the current Minister of Trade and Industry. Those were the days. I'm sure they are still comrades of the movement, but all I'm saying is, ayisafani. I find it sad that we are where we are. Ntate Mogase must be turning in his grave. Rest in eternal peace Ntate.

I don’t understand why there is financial distress in @CleanerJoburg. CEO Bukelwa Njingolo earns over R4m/year. Surely she has competence to run a going-concern. Rates increase more than inflation to R600/month or R150/collection. Someone is stealing money @Loyiso_Masuku @Lesufi

If only the likes of @DadaMorero @Lesufi and @JackSekwaila @Loyiso_Masuku could heed these words, @CityofJoburgZA may not be in the mess it’s in today… 😥🤷🏻
These words should be emblazoned on every government office in South Africa "Whoever decides to serve the public good must set aside, from the outset, any desire to get rich; and whoever seeks wealth should not hold positions that require dedication and selflessness. There can be no loyalty when the heart is tied to one's own benefit, because power exercised thinking only of personal gain ends up corrupting whoever holds it. Therefore, whoever assumes a public office must do so without greed and with a firm will not to fall into temptation. Only in this way does the office become true service, and not a disguised way of enriching oneself."

On June 5th, President Trump said "I'd be honored to meet him." He was talking about Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamanei. 14-15 May, Trump visited China and said Xi Jinping is "very smart," has "great stature" is "all business." But that was not the first time. In 2017, whilst in China during his first term, Trump said Xi is "a very special man" and "highly respected and powerful representative of his people." Did you also have a fit of pique then? Or you are just a bully? Bullying a nation that consistently overlooks your rudeness and affords you so much grace and courtesy?
The Government of South Africa rolls out the red carpet for Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, while Deputy President Mashatile is in Beijing deepening ties with China. Pretoria calls this "non-alignment." We call it what it is: a choice. The South African people deserve an honest conversation about who their government is choosing to stand with. #NotSoNonAligned
