Historian here. We almost never use statues to teach history. We have a whole bunch of more efficient tools at our disposal, like, you know, BOOKS. What’s happening is that these young people HAVE learned the history, and that’s why they’re pulling down the statue. 💪🏽

Women were not *given* the right to vote.
They won it for themselves through sheer force of will.
Generations of women & girls fought to be heard.
Today, we honor their leadership as we mark 101 years since the House passed the 19th Amendment.

Shout out to yet another news outlet for having no idea what library staff do
Just received, via our director, a lovely thank you letter from one of the last patrons I helped before we closed. It's making me miss in-person reference work even more.

I don’t think it is selfish to be sad about the personal losses that come with this lockdown.
It is selfish to be sad about *only* those personal losses.
It is entirely human to be sad about things missed while also knowing it’s right to miss them.

Fauci has been studying science since college in 1957. He has been the country’s infectious-disease leader since 1984. Yet many who have “studied” this virus for 10 weeks feel it fair and righteous to call him a fraud and believe media screamers.
