My first first-author paper is out! aslopubs.onlinelibrary.wiley…
Using 224Ra/228Th disequilibrium we show that benthic macrofauna impact benthic fluxes of macronutrients (variability between species and individuals), and that traditional approaches may miss out key flux drivers.

We have completed the most amazing experience: School on the Blue Economy in the Arctic. Started with meeting the wonderful people of Kuujjuaq and ending with a choppy 10 day experience on the CCGS Amundsen. @UoS_OES @philbenthos @Marianne_Fa @izzcoops #BlueEconomyArctic
That's a wrap! End of 3-month research placement working @BAS_News. Examining effects of trawling on zoobenthic carbon storage in the Barents Sea. Learnt lots (taught a few things about #diversityinstem) and met some great people. Results looking v interesting, watch this space!
Can confirm that @UK_CEH have been very welcoming and accommodating to Luna and I. Great course too! 🤯
Fancy a day exploring cool displays and activities from @unisouthampton scientists and engineers? Come along to SOTSEF on Sat. 16th March, and make sure you visit our stand - 'Mud, Marie Curie and Measuring the Unmeasurable!' #SOTSEF #BSW24

If you're registered for #AGU23, check out my poster about mud, critters, nutrients and radioisotopes in the online gallery! Session is tonight but it's available outside of that too 😊🪱🐌 agu23.ipostersessions.com/De…
Back from a great @ChallengerAMBIO meeting - lots of inspiring and productive conversations had, and my poster was highly commended! Feeling motivated to continue sciencing. Thanks to all who were involved!

Wrapping up @ChallengerAMBIO with poster and talk prizes! Well done to Molly Phillips @UoSDocCollege and Hugo Woodward-Rowe @Uni_of_Essex 👏👏
Highly commended posters by @izzcoops @BenFisher_ and talks by @Steph_C_Hodnett and me 🌊
So good to see this!
Female scientists often struggle to realize their professional potential– but how do women with disabilities overcome challenges and achieve excellence in science? Find out in this story from @AWISNational, featuring #WHOI physical oceanographer Amy Bower:

In the face of the warmest July on record, record low sea ice cover in Antarctica, the awful Mediterranean wildfires, the destructive floods worldwide, and the countless other climate-related horrors, this is absurd, disgusting, and hugely damaging. @JustStop_Oil #EndFossilFuels
Today we are saying no to @JustStop_Oil and their political wing the Labour Party
We will power ahead with new oil and gas because it’s in the best interests of the British people, of our economy and of our national security
Great stuff! Using radium as a tracer is a major part of my work, looking at fluxes between sediments and the water column.
Such a great workshop to be a panelist on! Thanks for attending, so glad it was enjoyable/useful!

We're back! A fantastic first experience at sea. Thanks to all the amazing crew and my fellow scientists 🌊💗
Welcome home, #RRSJamesCook! @PAP_observatory complete ✔️ next stop, refit @damen #Amsterdam for a lick of 🖌️ and some hefty engineering work. She’ll soon be ready to take on another year of science expeditions for the UK Marine Science community @NERCscience @NOCnews

It's been a wild few days helping to sort and extract data from abyssal specimens! Have met many weird and wonderful beasties and been excited to help out with lots of different work 🤓🐙🪱🦐 Of course, the sediment burrowers are still my favourite 😉 #JC247 @PAP_observatory
