Microsoft is officially drawing the line on another generation of Windows on Arm hardware.

With Windows 11 version 26H2, support for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 850 processor reaches its final chapter, making this release the last officially supported version of Windows for devices powered by the chip.
The Snapdragon 850 was a milestone for Microsoft and Qualcomm, serving as the first processor purpose-built for Windows PCs rather than adapted from smartphones. While affected devices can still run Windows 11 26H2 and receive security updates for the next two years, they won’t be eligible for Windows 11 version 27H2.
The move signals Microsoft’s continued push toward newer hardware and platforms as Windows evolves. For users holding onto early Arm-based PCs, the countdown has officially begun, marking the end of an important era in Windows on Arm history.

Passkeys were invented by security engineers with zero understanding of the consumer brain.
We had no way to argue its merits since no one understood what they are.
As a result, we are now all asked to produce the magic fairy dust to login to apps.
It may be on your phone, in your browser, in your operating system, in your body, who knows.
But now you’re safe.
