Earlier this year, we planned to buy a Honda Civic for ₦4m to use for Uber/ride-hailing and to serve our workshop clients. The idea was simple: under our Service+ subscription, we could take customers to their homes or offices after they dropped off their cars at the workshop. Beautiful idea, right? 😂 Then fuel prices happened. Petrol was around ₦800/litre in January. Thank God we didn't iput investors ₦3m into the idea.0l At this point, the numbers only make sense with a hybrid or electric car, which costs significantly more upfront. That's a tough investment for a small business that can't afford to tie down that much capital. Thank God I added the investment to our existing buy, fix and flip inventory. Otherwise, we might have been stuck with a brilliant idea that simply no longer made financial sense. Nigeria economis. 😭
