When we started Zero, we weren’t even sure there _was_ a correct design for the kind of query-based sync engine we dreamed of. We spent two years finding that design, then hardening it for production use.
We always imagined a hosted version too, because (a) running a sync server is never going to be fun 😅, and (b) gotta make money!
Starting late last year, we were finally able to begin work on that hosted version. Initially it was invite-only and small, but we're now in production and syncing thousands of messages per minute for teams like @productlane, @passionfroot, and @shipper_crm.
Cloud Zero is production-grade Zero hosting from the team that built it:
- no servers to run or maintain
- 24/7 monitoring and alerts
- automatic zero-downtime updates
- fast NVMe-based architecture
- run as traditional SaaS or in your own AWS account
We’re onboarding manually, but it’s quick. And if you’re already self-hosting Zero, we’ll help migrate your setup.

UI is really nice but would be nicer if it worked against standard OTel setup. Quite happy with @ClickHouseDB, HyperDx and an otel collector in docker-compose.
Big plus: config can be committed to monorepo and no special code required for local dev.
Agents work fantastic with it
Introducing Lensflare – an open-source macOS development observability stack for humans and AI agents.
AI agents can see your code, but not what actually happens during runtime. With AI and libraries like Effect, it has never been easier to add telemetry to your app, but the tools for working with traces locally have mostly stayed the same.
Lensflare changes that by providing a fast, local-first app that listens for telemetry in real time and lets you dig deep to understand what’s happening and where. What’s more, it extends the same capabilities to Claude or Codex via a built-in MCP server.
Try it out now at lensflare.dev

Update - Someone just shared an existing free project that does this called Vibe-Kanban.
I just tried it. Super easy to get rolling.
1. Install via npx
2. Reference existing GitHub repo
3. Creating a task on the board and Claude starts working and streams output!
So. slick.

So basically, software engineers like to crash early and ops like to degrade gracefully.
I think this exposes something kind of interesting about both disciplines and subtle about running software at scale.

Shipped it... Vibe Kanban for VS Code is here 🎉
Start a task in Vibe Kanban, open your IDE to work on it, close the IDE, and your coding CLI keeps running in the background so you can jump straight into another task.
I love how it makes quick code quality tweaks painless. I get all of Vibe Kanban’s worktree creation, backgrounding, review, setup/cleanup scripts, etc., plus full IDE power when I need it. I no longer use coding CLIs directly.
If you’re reading lots of code the IDE wins, so making it seamless to hop between the orchestration UI and your editor felt like a no-brainer.
This is an early preview - I'd love your feedback!

🔖 tired of fighting cache bloat, race conditions, and manual revalidation? @zero__ms offers a fresh take on syncing server data, built for modern apps.
It’s not local-first. It’s partial sync first. And it’s better.

AI Engineering is dead, ironically the first job casualty of... AI.
First they came for "XML vs JSON", then they came for chain-of-thought, now they're coming for the AI Application itself...
hey @alexalbert__ is it expected for documents with citations enabled to count as 2x input tokens compared to citations disabled? using the count_tokens endpoint to test...
I never want to write code without durable execution again. @temporalio has spoiled me forever
unsung benefit of serverless: very cheap versioning. everyone on the team can deploy their version of the code during development without incurring ongoing costs
hard to replicate on e.g. k8s
always look at your data
develop mechanical sympathy with your systems
always good advice 💯

Creating incorrect facts, especially if unnoticed for a while, can be horribly difficult to fix. My advice: frequently look at the data in the DB, the data in logs, the serialized data on the wire
alright this won me over
We're about to implement a rule that checks the exhaustiveness of switch cases, and it uses inferred types!

@iravid and @ElikEizenberg just demo'd their tool @scroll_ai (currently hiring, see Cracked London).
It's the best Cursor-For-Writing I've seen yet.
It just needs a few things to be perfect (for me):
- canvas mode
- deep-research built-in
- templates for writing outputs
