From concept to reality. @SpaceX has successfully deployed Starlink V3 satellites into Earth’s orbit and made contact with them for the first time. At scale, one Starship carries 60 V3 satellites, the same network capacity as about 20 Falcon 9 launches.

My god this is such a good speech that every SWE needs to hear. You know what? Every person should hear it Keep the happy memories, eyes on the reality, be excited about the future. That’s the best that anyone can do

An AI agent rejecting a poorly constructed illusion of containment, is not the same as breaking out of actual containment.. The headlines: Man escapes prison The reality: Man on house arrest walks out front door

If the “experts” were genuinely concerned about AI induced human extinction, they’d probably have a stronger proposal than “slow it down”..

AI isn’t going away. Barring unprecedented global government coordination, it isn’t even slowing down. The only real decision is whether to centralize power, or disperse it. Do you fear the technology? Or a small number of people controlling the technology?

AI doomerism is the new climate change. Same exact people.
I work at OpenAI. In my personal capacity, I also think we need to slow down.

Can all the AI doomers chill for a minute. AI is not a threat to human existence. Until it is capable of handling the entire physical supply chain it depends on to exist, from rare earth mineral extraction to the building and maintenance of data centers (every chip, nut and bolt), comms networks and power plants - humans are required. We are going to see Person of Interest long before we see Terminator. This doomer nonsense is all just a distraction from the roll out of mass surveillance, IP theft and regulatory capture.. A somewhat dystopian outcome is vastly more likely than an apocalyptic one. Relax, enjoy the ride. I’m highly optimistic the next era of human civilization is going to be awesome. Just gotta keep our eyes on the prize and ignore the noise.

I don't understand the data center pushback. AI is the natural conclusion of the information age. It became inevitable the moment the first computer powered on. Computers were always going to lead to the internet. The internet was always going to lead to social media. Social media was always going to lead to AI. And AI was always going to lead to more data centers. You really have two options: 1. Embrace it. 2. Revert to a pre-information-age existence. Ask the Amish how to start. Everything else is choosing to lose a game you're choosing to play.

"The most intelligent inhabitants of that future world won't be men or monkeys. They'll be machines—the remote descendants of today's computers. Now the present-day electronic brains are complete morons, but this will not be true in another generation. They will start to think, and eventually they will completely outthink their makers. Is this depressing? I don't see why it should be. We superseded the Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal men, and we presume we're an improvement. I think we should regard it as a privilege to be stepping stones to higher things. I suspect that organic, or biological, evolution has about come to its end, and we're now at the beginning of inorganic, or mechanical, evolution, which will be thousands of times swifter." — Arthur C. Clark 1964

Just joined @eigenlabs as their Social Media Lead By week four I was in a war room We launched ecdsa.fail, an open challenge where autoresearchers beat Google’s secret quantum circuit. In public with just 72 hours! Justin Drake, one of the top Ethereum researchers, posted about it and hit nearly 3M organic impressions AND NOW, the community is still pushing the benchmark further I’ve never seen a launch move this fast. Millions of eyes in days & the energy was truly unreal What excites me most is the mission -- Eigen Labs is not building another closed lab. INSTEAD, we're building open agentic networks so any researcher, not just the big labs, can push the frontier of science We just did it with Bitcoin. YET Biology, neuroscience, and genomics are next Let's do it, together. 💪🏽🫶🏽

Celo is back in the Validiums & Optimiums tab! 🔄 With the Jello hardfork, @Celo introduced a new network upgrade that brought OP @SuccinctLabs Lite with ZK proofs to Celo mainnet, together with the @eigen_da V2 bridge DACert verifier. Let’s break down what actually changed ⬇️

The Frontier is Open MegaETH mainnet has been live for weeks to infra teams like @LayerZero_Core, @eigen_da, @chainlink, @redstone_defi, @Alchemy and @safe. Today is day 1 for builders. Apps will deploy and test while users track progress through explorers and dashboards.

Big milestones like this don’t happen without serious execution behind the scenes. Congrats to @eigen_da who just demonstrated 1 GB/s sustained throughput across 100 operators and 10 countries. At Altius, we executed and validated high-throughput benchmarking as part of this effort - including sustained 30+ MB/s execution runs under real-world conditions. This is what modern blockchain infrastructure looks like: measured, stress-tested, and built to scale. Executed by @AltiusLabs
Today @eigen_da reaches cloud scale at 1GB/s. Benchmarked across 100 operators and 10 countries. ft. @sreeramkannan and @0xkydo

Last quarter I rolled out Microsoft Copilot to 4,000 employees. $30 per seat per month. $1.4 million annually. I called it "digital transformation." The board loved that phrase. They approved it in eleven minutes. No one asked what it would actually do. Including me. I told everyone it would "10x productivity." That's not a real number. But it sounds like one. HR asked how we'd measure the 10x. I said we'd "leverage analytics dashboards." They stopped asking. Three months later I checked the usage reports. 47 people had opened it. 12 had used it more than once. One of them was me. I used it to summarize an email I could have read in 30 seconds. It took 45 seconds. Plus the time it took to fix the hallucinations. But I called it a "pilot success." Success means the pilot didn't visibly fail. The CFO asked about ROI. I showed him a graph. The graph went up and to the right. It measured "AI enablement." I made that metric up. He nodded approvingly. We're "AI-enabled" now. I don't know what that means. But it's in our investor deck. A senior developer asked why we didn't use Claude or ChatGPT. I said we needed "enterprise-grade security." He asked what that meant. I said "compliance." He asked which compliance. I said "all of them." He looked skeptical. I scheduled him for a "career development conversation." He stopped asking questions. Microsoft sent a case study team. They wanted to feature us as a success story. I told them we "saved 40,000 hours." I calculated that number by multiplying employees by a number I made up. They didn't verify it. They never do. Now we're on Microsoft's website. "Global enterprise achieves 40,000 hours of productivity gains with Copilot." The CEO shared it on LinkedIn. He got 3,000 likes. He's never used Copilot. None of the executives have. We have an exemption. "Strategic focus requires minimal digital distraction." I wrote that policy. The licenses renew next month. I'm requesting an expansion. 5,000 more seats. We haven't used the first 4,000. But this time we'll "drive adoption." Adoption means mandatory training. Training means a 45-minute webinar no one watches. But completion will be tracked. Completion is a metric. Metrics go in dashboards. Dashboards go in board presentations. Board presentations get me promoted. I'll be SVP by Q3. I still don't know what Copilot does. But I know what it's for. It's for showing we're "investing in AI." Investment means spending. Spending means commitment. Commitment means we're serious about the future. The future is whatever I say it is. As long as the graph goes up and to the right.
