New: An NYPD spokesperson confirms the police department no longer plans to enter into a no-bid contract with a controversial Israeli surveillance tech company — a reversal that comes after the procurement drew pushback from Mayor Mamdani's allies and civil rights advocates.

There's no room left for "progressives except for palestine" in the socialist movement. DSA must act as a material counterweight to the zionist lobby, and it requires us to hold firm against the drone of lesser-evil politics. AIPAC doesn't engage in it, nor should we.
NEW: DSA's National Political Committee passed two resolutions tonight regarding Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman, setting up processes to potentially force DSA's Los Angeles chapter to rescind its endorsement of her campaign and/or expel her from DSA. Here are copies of the 2 resolutions that passed: Rescinding endorsement: docs.google.com/document/d/1… Expulsion: docs.google.com/document/d/1…

“If those Palestinians hadn’t come and started throwing rocks, I probably would not have survived,” veteran Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine told Jasper Nathaniel after she was brutally beaten by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, according to Nathaniel. Speaking to Ben Rhodes on Pod Save the World, Nathaniel recounted the details of the October 16 attack on Palestinian olive harvesters, how Palestinian villagers risked their lives to rescue Levine, and how Israeli soldiers subsequently shot a Palestinian man and blocked paramedics. “Do Palestinians have a right to defend themselves through armed struggle, if that’s what it takes?” Nathaniel asked. “And if not, do you suggest they lay down and die and let their village get overrun and let Heidi Levine get killed and accept the fate that the settlers have in mind for them, which they will openly tell you is to wipe them off the map?” 🔗 Full interview linked in reply. @infinite_jaz | @brhodes

Great bit where U.S. politicians go to the West Bank, get subjected to Israeli security measures and "expose" what everyone already knows about them, come home, and then immediately spend that credibility on saying that Israel isn't that bad.
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured. I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis. And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response. I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image. For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

Instead of qt'ing that useless liberal zionist, here is a statement from the PFLP's armed wing mourning the two martyrs who conducted the heroic operation in Al-Khalil [Hebron] which resulted in the deaths of two fascist soldiers of the occupation army & injury of three others.

🚨 Liberal process critique alert! The problem for Murphy is merely a lack of a "workable plan" to protect American soldiers, spies and imperial forts halfway around the world, not any opposition to the slaughter & supreme international crime of initiating a war of aggression.
Trump started a war with Iran with no workable plan to protect our troops, diplomats or billion dollar bases. Every citizen should be furious about this. Just total, utter incompetence.

“There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence.” And no matter how many innocent Palestinian lives that takes, we will find it right Brad? We should grieve for those poor soldiers, who occupy, steal, rape, and murder, but it’s because we don’t see path yet!

Does this path include forcing israel to disarm? Does it include right of return? Does it include the dissolution of the apartheid government? Gaza has been destroyed, is your “path” coming soon, or shall we wait for the west bank to be annihilated? Fuck off.

Both Ro Khanna & Brad Lander went to the West Bank & got detained by IDF. Afterward both still refuse to support an arms embargo & sanctions on Israel. Liberal Zionism cannot have the best interest of Palestinians in mind, because it must have the best interest of Israel in mind.
