Today is the feast of Saints Simon and Jude-Thaddeus. Both of them were Apostles of Jesus. St. Jude was a brother of St. James the Less and a relative of our Saviour. As the patron saint of desperate and impossible cases, may St. Jude intercede for us when situations around us seem hopeless. Amen🙏🏽

Jesus Christ teaches us that love of God and love of neighbour cannot be separated. We cannot claim to love God while ignoring the suffering of those around us. Our prayers must make us more compassionate, our faith more generous, and our love more visible in the way we treat others, especially the poor and vulnerable.

For anyone making important life decisions right now, may the Holy Spirit guide your decisions, calm your fears, and give you the wisdom to recognise the right path. May God open the doors meant for you and give you the courage to trust His plan, even when the way ahead is unclear. Amen. – at Ibadan, Nigeria

More people are converting to Catholicism, says Catholic Faith Educator Kristen Harris. "We are in a world where people are just looking for truth, something traditional, and they are looking for faith that doesn't change every 5 minutes, and as you know, as a fellow catholic, we are standing on 2,000 years of tradition, the foremost of the faith and the foremost that Jesus Christ established," she added. #SunriseDaily

Mary, Mother of the Family, intercede for those carrying heavy responsibilities for their families. When they feel exhausted or alone, remind them that God sees their sacrifices. Obtain for them strength, support, and moments of rest and renewal. Amen.

Pope Leo XIV’s doctors have confirmed that the tumor removed on October 13 was a lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized. Dr. Luigi Carbone and Professor Stefano Margaritora said on Wednesday evening that a subsequent oncological assessment has confirmed that “no further treatment is necessary.”

1/ My thoughts are with the patient confirmed with Ebola in our Federal Capital, Abuja, her family and everyone caring for her, including the health workers among the 44 contacts now being followed up. Nigeria did not wait for a case to begin preparing. @NCDCgov rated the risk of importation as high on 28 May, soon after the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo was declared, and put ten states, including the FCT, on alert.
PRESS STATEMENT STAY INFORMED. STAY SAFE. Public health is a shared responsibility, and the right information helps us all stay safe. The Federal Government, working with the NCDC and relevant health authorities, is taking the necessary steps to protect public health and strengthen surveillance following the confirmation of an Ebola disease case in the FCT. There is no need for panic. What matters is staying informed, practising good hand hygiene, knowing the symptoms and seeking guidance from public health authorities if you suspect exposure. 📌 Remember: Ebola spreads through direct contact with the blood or body fluids of an infected person who is sick or has died, or contaminated materials. It does not spread before symptoms begin. For reliable information or to report a suspected case, call the NCDC toll-free line 6232, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Let’s stay calm, rely on verified information and do our part to keep our communities safe. #MinistryOfHealthNG

4/ The teams responding today are under real pressure. They are tracing and monitoring contacts, protecting health workers, testing samples and answering an anxious public, all at the same time. The most useful thing the rest of us can do is to avoid adding to that load. Please do not share unverified claims, voice notes or rumours. Take your information from @NCDCgov and @Fmohnigeria, and call the NCDC toll-free line, 6232, if you are concerned about possible exposure. There is no need for panic; it does not help. Ebola spreads through direct contact with the blood or body fluids of someone who is sick or has died, or with contaminated materials, and it does not spread before symptoms begin. Let us give the responders the support and the space to do their work. #Ebola #Nigeria #PublicHealth #HealthSecurity

Nigeria has confirmed one imported case of #Ebola Bundibugyo virus disease in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), becoming the fifth country to detect the virus since an outbreak of the disease was declared in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on 15 May 2026. As per the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria (@Fmohnigeria): ▶️ The patient is a woman with a recent travel history to Uganda. ▶️ Her symptoms began on 7 October, four days after she arrived in Nigeria, and she sought care at a private health facility in Abuja on 11 October. ▶️ A laboratory test confirmed Bundibugyo virus on 20 October. ▶️ She is currently in isolation and receiving medical care. ▶️ Investigations are ongoing to establish the likely source of her infection and reconstruct her full travel and exposure history. The ministry, so far, reports that 44 contacts have been identified and are being monitored. Contact tracing is also underway. Rapid identification of cases, timely follow-up of contacts and effective infection prevention and control are critical to contain the spread of the virus. WHO and partners are working with health authorities to strengthen efforts to stop the virus from spreading. WHO urges all countries in the region to sustain a high level of readiness as the outbreak in the DRC continues to evolve. WHO advises against any restriction of travel to, or trade with, affected countries, and continues to closely monitor and, where necessary, verify travel and trade measures in relation to this event. WHO regularly reviews the latest information to update its assessment of the risks posed by the outbreak. Read the full press release: bit.ly/487wX60

Walking away from my old drinking crowd was one of the hardest parts of getting sober, and one of the best. Some people leave so God can bring the right ones in. "He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm." Proverbs 13:20

It’s very freeing when you realize God is your doorkeeper. He’s going to have the right people for each season of your life. It may not be who it’s always been. Some people are long-term, and some may walk away. You have to be at peace with who leaves.

God said vengeance is His. Not yours. Your job is not to get even, your job is to get healed. Because if you don't heal from what hurt you, you will bleed on people who didn't cut you. Some of you don't want healing, you just want revenge. And that's why you're still stuck.

In my reading today, Colossians 2:13 says God made us alive with Christ, "having forgiven you all trespasses." When I remember how much He let go for me, it gets a lot easier to let go of what someone else did to me.

Yes, they may have done you wrong, betrayed you, left you out, but God is your vindicator. He’ll take care of who hurt you. But if you let that bitterness get on the inside, it’s going to poison the next relationship. You have to be at peace with who left.
