Researchers pulled a 256-bit encryption key out of a device by filming its power LED. The status light on a smart card reader flickers in sync with the chip's power draw, and that power draw leaks the key. They recovered a full ECDSA key from 16 meters away, through a window, using a hijacked security camera. No malware, no contact, just video of a status light. The trick: a camera's rolling shutter turns 60 frames per second into 60,000 brightness samples per second. The light that tells you a device is on tells an attacker what it is computing. SeedSigner runs on a Raspberry Pi Zero. The same optical side-channel works because its power LED brightness fluctuates with CPU power draw during ECDSA signing. An attacker with line-of-sight films the LED (phone or security cam) while the device signs multiple transactions, exploits the rolling shutter for high-rate samples, recovers power/timing traces, and extracts the private key via known cryptanalysis techniques like those used on ECDSA nonces. The seed must be loaded in RAM at the time; the attack is remote and contactless.

A man associated with the 764 network has been sentenced to 6 years in jail in the UK. 21-year-old Dylan Phelan coerced another 21-year-old from Louisiana to commit suicide with a shotgun while on a live Discord call with other members. When he was arrested, police discovered child abuse images and "extreme pornography" on his devices. The UK chose to indict him only for the suicide encouragement. Phelan admitted in court that he had been drawn into to dark groups on Discord where he began participating in sadistic activities connected to the 764 network.

🚨 LAPSUS$ claims it is permanently ending operations after meeting its financial objectives, stating there will be no further communications, leaks, or access offerings. The group also taunted investigators and TeamPCP, while alleging that Mercor user data, including personal information, biometric records, and recordings, was sold to Chinese entities. These claims remain unverified. Source: lapsus[.]bz

The FBI has issued a FLASH on the cybercriminal group TeamPCP, which has carried out large-scale software supply chain compromises by targeting widely used developers and security tools. The group has infiltrated victim environments and extracted sensitive data, including cloud access tokens, SSH keys, and Kubernetes secrets. TeamPCP has also engaged in extortion and collaboration with cyber actors from other threat actor groups, publishing victim names on a public leak site and threatening to release stolen data. Read the FLASH for more on TeamPCP’s tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), indicators of compromise (IOCs), and recommendations to protect your organization: ic3.gov/CSA/2026/260702.pdf

‼️🇺🇸 Updated fire sale for GitHub internal repositories from TeamPCP.
🚨🇺🇸 GitHub source code and internal repositories allegedly offered for sale currently for $80,000. A forum actor known as Resolute claims to be selling source code and internal organization data allegedly obtained from GitHub. The listing says the material includes code from GitHub’s main platform and approximately 4,000 private repositories. The actor claims samples can be provided to serious buyers to verify the authenticity of the data. Screenshots posted with the listing appear to show Ruby source code and extensive internal repository file listings. The actor says the current offer is $80,000 and is accepting higher bids.
