Please pray for he repose of the soul of Janice McCauley, who passed this morning, on the feast of the Divine Maternity of Mary at 7:40 AM. She received the anointing many times, but this past week, in God’s great mercy, she was able to receive viaticum and the apostolic blessing. She turned 94 on September 1st, and suffered greatly. She had COPD, congestive heart failure, leukemia, kidney failure among other issues. I pray her long-suffering was purgative to such a degree that she is, in God’s infinite mercy, reunited with my late uncle Kevin who died as a child, my sister, my grandpa who preceded her in death nearly 12 years ago, and her own parents.

I wasn't allowed to see my grandma in her final weeks, and I'm so sad about it.

Who do I know that lives in St. Louis?

I’m just going to mini-rant here: if you are a stylist working in a salon, and you mess up someone’s hair, just own it and show them. Then do what you can to fix it. Don’t be the kind of person that lacks so much integrity that you hide your (obvious!) mistakes. When the client goes home, she *will* see the mistake. A client spending hundreds at your salon should not have to hunt you down for a correction. The onus should not be on the client to pursue remedy— you should because your reputation and character depend on it.
