Star of the week @NHSBartsHealth . One of our consultant dermatologists did a full night shift supporting the nurses and then stayed till 11 am the next day helping the team sort out PPE related skin problems 💙

Absolutely this! Comment yesterday that it wasn’t as bad as expected in Kent with over 670 deaths. Reporting has become too casual

We think it’s an absolute disgrace that @MattHancock asked Dr Allin-Khan to ‘watch her tone’ when asking a very reasonable question.
Especially when considering over 180 of her colleagues have died on his watch.

Unfortunately we've lost a few followers due to sharing this article about the government's failings regarding Coronavirus

It is heartbreaking that NHS staff have been, and continue to be, failed by those at the highest level.
We hope the media maintain this level of scrutiny for the benefit of everyone in the UK - please RT if you do too.

Please be more specific about the "underlying conditions" ...for those in this category, lack of detail is more frightening than generalities. @PHE_uk @CommonsHealth

We also need support for residents & carers to access their full Gp record in order to maintain independence @griffglen @ManchesterGrou1 @ingridbrindle this would be an important change and step forward @doctorcaldwell in both #nhs and social carer arena

We should be aiming for “personal health biographies” which allow full access to relevant info to support heath, education, DWP, housing, all applications for reasonable adjustments, disability support, DVLA etc to save time create efficiency+enable right support at right time

I agree with all you say. The current inequity of access will remain as there is disagreement in the principle of access+ no funding. Some pt/carers are experts by experience, have all their data by SAR +yet continually refused online access as it is banned across the practice

In some areas we have a very long way to go. There are many issues including not just time and resource but a strong cultural resistance. I can only keep raising the issue as it is detrimental to health in peeps with LTC

We did, the data was all 2care stuff/ occasional childhood illness no 3P data etc. A GP Digital Champion visited on our behalf but they refused to budge. We used Equalities Act/reasonable adjustment to mitigate deafness/memory loss.

Where do patients go for help when this happens @MattHancock? @rcgp The mental stress and distress on people who are already unwell and trying to survive is unacceptable.

People move tho education/work/relationships/domestic abuse etc the repeated failure to transfer GP records is a disgrace. Yet access to our GP record is repeatedly refused, ppl would keep it safe because our lives and livelihood depend on it.

The system is broken, health records are important not just for care but for support services/benefits/reasonable adjustments. The distress is unbelievable. Some of the most basic requirements of NHS GP IT are missing. Missing records risk safe care and no one seems to care
ingrid brindle retweeted
I wrote about the new GP prospective record access starting in April on another platform I have been overwhelmed by enquiries about missing GP records leading to evidence failure for DWP applications, refusal by GP to support as “not in contract” to do letters, poor care as no hx

2/2 Yet another reason why I need to keep my own records and have them available should I be admitted to hospital. Cannot rely upon communications between primary/secondary care providers. There *must* be a better way! #patientexperience #patientsafety

Patient safety and efficiency; the reasons behind the need for digitisation of records and pathways of care. Its what patients and clinicians expect and need
