Hostage releases is a welcome first step but all children held must be freed. Children in Gaza remain at grave risk. The right to safety & assistance must be fulfilled for all children. We need a lasting ceasefire now.

Even before this crisis, humanitarian aid to #Afghanistan was critically low, and millions of people were in desperate need of life-saving help.

At the #UNFSS2021 I reminded🌍leaders that #gender & gender-transformative approaches must be at the centre of efforts to improve nutrition. We must change the way we think about nutrition & gender equality, put girls and women at the centre of dialogues & decision making. #UNGA
Today, we resumed our essential health and nutrition services for children in Kandahar, #Afghanistan.
The need cannot be overstated. Thousands of displaced Afghan families are sleeping outside in the open without food or medical care.
