The ECI’s response has punctured a huge hole in the gas-bag of Rahul Gandhi’s unsubstantiated allegations of “vote chori”. The Indian Express investigation raised questions, and the ECI has now responded point by point: • SIR was NOT a CEC solo decision. The ECI says the June 24, 2025 SIR order and subsequent schedules were approved UNANIMOUSLY by all three Commissioners. • Form 6 was not “secretly rewritten.” The ECI says the SIR declaration was part of the SIR process and that the statutory Form 6 continues to apply outside SIR. • As being claimed, the 97 Goa cases are NOT 97 permanently stolen votes. The ECI says BLOs have contacted the affected voters and 81 of the 97 have already filed Form 6; the remaining cases can also be processed for inclusion. • ECINET is NOT being left unchecked. The ECI has said a committee headed by a senior Deputy Election Commissioner, with an independent IIT/IIIT expert, will review the system’s compliance with electoral law. • The disputed IT directions were NOT implemented. The ECI maintains that the statutory oversight of the IT division was never withdrawn. • The process remains open to voters. Help desks, camps, house visits and online hearings are being used, while eligible voters left out of the rolls can seek inclusion through the prescribed process. So what remains of @RahulGandhi’s fictitious “vote chori” narrative?? Absolutely nothing!! The three Election Commissioners have now put out the ECI’s position together and unanimously.
