Ranveer Singh Yadav, former bus conductor with the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), waged a legal battle spanning 40 years over a sum of just 5 paise—and ultimately won.
In 1973, Ranveer Singh was accused of issuing a 10-paise ticket instead of a 15-paise one to a female passenger and pocketing the remaining 5 paise. Following this allegation, a departmental inquiry was conducted, and he was dismissed from service in 1976.
Ranveer challenged this action by approaching the Labour Court. In 1990, the Labour Court ruled in his favor, declaring his dismissal wrongful. However, the DTC challenged this verdict in the Delhi High Court, causing the matter to drag on for decades.
Finally, in 2016, the Delhi High Court dismissed the DTC's appeal. The court ordered that Ranveer Singh be paid ₹30,000. Additionally, the court directed the payment of ₹1.28 lakh as gratuity and ₹1.37 lakh towards his Contributory Provident Fund (CPF).

Jammu has its own deep state. The publisher who published this book is the same entity that published another book celebrating Maqbool Bhat and other anti nationals as heroes of J&K, placing nationalists like @spvaid in the same league with Geelani and others. That book was banned and withdrawn after many of us protested against that.
Now comes another narrative and it concerns the founder of our state, Maharaja Gulab Singh, a warrior Rajput from the hills of Jammu. I don't want to write what has been claimed in the book but am sharing the screenshot.
This nonsense needs to be checked. Unfortunately, this book is available in the school libraries. The author who calls a fellow researcher a prostitute, has been a HoD of history in a govt college in Jammu. His language and disdain for Rajputs and Brahmins is a case of spreading hatred.
