Promotion - no I do not get paid for this - but the Portuguese red wine at Kendall’s (Institute of Engineers) is still the nicest and best value for money in the whole of SW1. Trust me! 😉
Little good deed of the day today - I was kind to London tourists. They help the economy, after all. And we‘re all tourists somewhere, once in a while. 😉 Tourists are a bit like vermin in Westminster, especially German tourists, but in the end they just want to have a great hol.
The three kings have arrived a but early at Liberty’s. 😉 Brief escape to the civilised world to look at some of their lovely fabrics for a project. I know it’s touristy, but I still love the charming old-world atmosphere here.
A few shots from the Liberal Democrats’ press conference this morning, Daisy Cooper announcing a major pre-budget intervention.
And some shots from yesterday, the very enjoyable Steampunk Spooktacular at the historic Victorian Crossness Pumping Station near Abbey Wood. What a stunningly beautiful building and structure. Definitely worth seeing, they are open to visitors on certain days.
Two more from Frieze London, because I really quite liked these two works. The first are two video diptychs by artist Russell Watson at new Black Curatorial Gallery, the second is a painting by Spanish artist Chidy Wayne at Southern Guild Gallery. All pic sets @Alamy_Editorial
And a few shots from Frieze Masters, which was very busy, but I must admit I prefer the somewhat calmer, more focused atmosphere there. Fewer influencers, more people actually interested in art. But what do I know. Both fairs were fab, together attracting c. 95k visitors.
Also went back to Frieze London and Frieze Masters for the last day of the fairs, some shots below. First up Frieze London with some very contemporary works. It was so large this year, that I nearly got lost when I went there on Wednesday.
A few from the Sunday morning media round at the BBC this morning, Zack Polanski, Helen Whately, Yvette Cooper, umm, Nadine Dorries.
A 'Russian 'Deli and Caviar Boutique' appears to have opened recently in Parkway, Camden. Looked pricey, and empty. Seems a bit tone deaf, perhaps, to go ahead opening that sort of business right now?
Ok I will make myself unpopular with this tweet, but the way most of their fans here in London look really does not endear the NFL (nor American football in general) to me. Sorry!

Charles due to be killed in a British Council pound on Monday 19 Oct 2026
Looks like London has found the solution for the changeable ‘between seasons’ weather. The flip-boot. Or boot-flop? Dunno. Anyhow…
