Tom Cruise, the modern-day Frederick Winslow Taylor. #Taylorism #stopwatch
Tom Cruise says it originally took six hours for the “Digger” hair and makeup team to apply his Digger Rockwell prosthetics, but he quickly made the process “more efficient” by showing up with a chalkboard and timing how long it took to put each prosthetic on:
“I had a guy there with a stopwatch and I’m like, ‘OK, you see that time, six hours? By the time we’re done, we’re going to get it under an hour.’ They were like, ‘No, I’m not doing that, it will never happen.’ I’m like, ‘OK, first of all, if you say no, you can’t do it, you will never get there. So can we agree that we’ll maybe make it a little less?’ So with each piece that was going on, it was timed and then we’d drill and practice.”
It worked, and they eventually got his makeup and prosthetics routine down to under an hour: “They were like, ‘What?!’ And they didn’t even know it, and they didn’t even rush. I like going into a system, studying it and trying to figure out how I can do it better, more efficient. The films that I make, I’m constantly going, how can I do it better?”

Ben dahil birçok kişi şu an bununla uğraşıyor. @TK_TR THY diyor ki "Biz sizi (geçmişte) uçurduk, mil verdik, ama meğerse yanlış hesaplamışız; şimdi onları geri aldık." Hangi uçuştan kaç mil yanlış hesaplamışsınız diye sorunca, "O detay bizde yok." Hayatımda bir ilk! @TK_HelpDesk

Thanks for your critique, Janet. We actually tried a couple of episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) (please put the brackets in the right place) gets it right first time, but they were only 6 minutes long. NBC weren’t happy. Then we tried some where House never gets it right and the patient dies. The audience wasn’t happy.
One could apply your trenchant analysis to other art forms: JS Bach wrote 30 Goldberg variations on the same chord structure; Frida Kahlo painted 50 portraits of herself; Henry Moore, what??
The point is, or was, variations on a theme; if all you see is hospital, medical blah blah, then it wasn’t meant for you.
Nonetheless, I look forward to your first novel!

me: yeah I think naming the song “Javert’s Suicide” is a needless spoiler; it should be called “Javert’s Soliloquy” to contrast it with Valjean’s soliloquy in Act I
my boss: I meant “anything else” in terms of this meeting

Bu arada Don Bluth'un The Secret of NIMH'ini (1982) animasyon severlere şiddetle öneriyorum. Hem orjinal bir konusu var hem de Disney dışında alternatif bir yaklaşım görmek bünyeye iyi geliyor. imdb.com/title/tt0084649/

A factorion is an integer which is equal to the sum of factorials of its digits.
There are exactly four such numbers:
1 = 1!
2 = 2!
145 = 1!+4!+5!
40585 = 4!+0!+5!+8!+5!

Hi @Headspace. Why did you remove names of narrators for the Sleepcasts? SO important; I should be able to choose the story depending on voice. I spend so much time at night clicking on a story, waiting to hear the voice, then switching to another, etc. Bring back the names pls!
