I did not expect this to blow up the way it did, but while we are here, may I promote my book, Show Your Work: Teaching Smarter With the Science of Learning. Buy it at a discount from Bloomsbury and give it to a teacher you know. bloomsbury.com/us/show-your-…
I didn't not expect this tweet to blow up the way it did. But while I have your attention, can I take a moment to plug my book, Show Your Work: Teaching Smarter With the Science of Learning. Bloomsbury is holding a sale on it now. bloomsbury.com/us/show-your-…

Things conservatives told me when I was in my 20’s:
*Character counts
*Crony capitalism is bad
*Russia is our enemy
*Tariffs are taxes
*The Constitution is sacrosanct
*Government power should be limited, restrained, and checked by congress.
Guess they were just joking.
This week's blog post is the text from Thursday night's book launch speech. If you couldn't be there, now you can at least know what I said. (Warning: It's long. Grab a cookie.) ontherabbittrail.blogspot.co…
A request: If you are enjoying Show Your Work: Teaching Smarter With the Science of Learning, would you please give it a review on either Goodreads or Amazon?
I'm using Fridays to mix things up. Last week I did Cardio Strength with Anna Beth. Today, I did Aqua Fit with Lizzy.
I knew Lizzy was great because she did a class for my Livestrong group. She is very different in her approach (less dance-y, more resistance training), so . . .
Last night was the official launch of Show Your Work: Teaching Smarter With the Science of Learning. There will be more pictures as people share them with me. I was so grateful to have the launch at GRACE, my academic home for 21 years.
Getting to thank my parents, Mr. Sandberg, everyone at @GRACERaleigh, everyone at the YMCA, everyone from my church, Kevin, @jtalmarode, and @AndrewWatsonTTB was the dream of a lifetime.
Setting aside the fact that there is no such thing as being "left-brained" or "right-brained," how is anyone seeing anything other than Michael Myers?

As the world becomes more and more complex, and more and more fake, one of the most important skills we can pass on to our kids is the ability to spot bullshit.
Know who has a really hard time spotting bullshit? Someone who doesn’t know anything.
Discernment, like all other skills doesn’t happen in a vacuum though. We can’t teach it on its own.
The best defense against misinformation and lies will not be a skills-based curriculum, or a 22nd century mindset, it will be actually knowing things.
Richard is a delightful teacher, and that comes across in his writing. If you know a substitute teacher (or are one), this book will hellp them do it with purpose.
When I walked into a school as a supply teacher, without my Senior Leader title, my bubble burst. So I brought experts together to create a book for temporary teachers. supply / cover teachers deserve PD that is bespoke to their unique challenges amazon.co.uk/dp/1041317212
