Confession: I have no idea when I first broke 100, 90, 80, or even 70. I don’t remember my first par, birdie, or eagle. I didn’t start playing until I was ~15. I just never thought those milestones were worth remembering. I was always focused on what came next.

Here are some before (Blue) / after swings from a new (to me) golfer. I've seen trail arms lowering before… I've never seen them actually go into extension! 60° turn, 125° elbow bend… Gold is from two swings later. Same clubhead speed, and I said "go slow!" 😀⚙️ #GetInGEARS

A listener to @TheSpinAxis episode on the flat lead wrist (thespinaxis.com/ep82) had a question about my red and green paddle. So here’s the simple demonstration.

youtube.com/watch?v=Uc009J2H… I didn't love this video from @MyTPI. If you say the "center of the pelvis" I don't think of a marker on the front of the pelvis where your belt buckle might be.

I like a grip that's perpendicular to the fingers and across the base of the fingers. Here's @JustinThomas34 gripping it "more in the palm" for a specific short game shot. Note how different even this slightly palmy grip is than most amateurs. youtube.com/watch?v=SIU7_oTD…

Koivun's swing is pretty freaking standard up until the early follow-through.
This longtime teaching pro says there are 3 “freak” swings that he’s never seen have success on the PGA Tour before that have won in the past 6 weeks and will be on display in Memphis in the playoffs. Story here: golfweek.usatoday.com/story/…

youtube.com/watch?v=O0a8Q-KH… Hmmm. Is being to the left side of the fairway a better angle? A bit, sure. Should you aim for the left side of the fairway? Almost never. @LouStagner, you were there… How often did you have your player aim left here? 😜 #Angles

The Arm Shark 🦈 by @A_M_Golf is a new training aid coming out this Monday, July 28 (the start of 🦈 Week!). It’s going to help a lot of golfers with a common issue — over-bending the trail elbow. Here’s how it works. #PlayBetter #golf

If you show up to a lesson with your club(s) looking like this, you might be costing yourself strokes on the course. Please, keep your clubs clean. 😜😊

It's sometimes said in golf instruction that "force precedes motion." Some believe there's a delay between when a golfer applies a force to the ground and when the ground pushes back. Neither is true. Here's a thread on the topic (re: a @MyTPI video): thesandtrap.com/forums/topic…

I’ve never totally agreed that a proper draw or a fade don’t “cross the target line.” If you hit a draw that starts 12 yards right of the target and finishes 6 yards right of the target, that’s a *worse* shot than one that starts 7 yards right and finishes 2 yards left.

As long as it’s not getting away from you, a “proper” shot is one that has a good start line and a good curve, and finishes near the target. Do not worry so much, unless you’re REALLY doing some skill building, on whether it crosses the target line. It’s allowed to on the course.
