I was on vacation at a lodge in the Amazon. (Some people don't believe even that part, for whatever reason.)
Three of us were chatting before a meal when we decided to sit at a table under a mango tree.
Suddenly, an unripe mango fell and hit one of the guys on the head. We found it strange because none of the mangos were ripe, and there weren't any on the ground. And trust me, unripe mangos are hard.
A couple of minutes later, another mango hit my head. Right after that, one hit the woman sitting beside me.
Three people. Three mangos. One hit each. None even touched the ground.
We thought it was strange, so we looked up.
There were two monkeys in the tree, picking the mangos and deliberately throwing them at us. And they had some seriously good aim.
It was funny, but those mangos actually hurt. We also weren't keen on finding out what else they might decide to throw at us, so we moved to another spot.

The overnight train was headed from Los Angeles to Seattle, carrying 86 passengers i.e families, business travelers, students, and tourists.
For most of the trip, everything seemed routine. Then, at 11:40 p.m., the train suddenly began slowing down in the middle of nowhere.
At first, people assumed it was just a mechanical problem. But nearly thirty minutes passed, and the passengers started to grow uneasy.
Passenger: "Excuse me, does anyone know why we've been stopped here so long?"
Conductor: "We're dealing with a minor technical issue. We'll be moving again shortly."
Passenger: "That's what you said twenty minutes ago."
Conductor: "I understand that you're frustrated, sir. Please try to be patient."
A young woman by the window suddenly turned toward them.
Woman: "Excuse me, but I think something's wrong."
Conductor: "What makes you say that?"
Woman: "We've passed that abandoned gas station three times."
Conductor: "That can't be right. We haven't left the route."
Woman: "Then how do you explain the same broken sign appearing for the third time?"
The conductor glanced outside. He didn't answer.
The woman checked her phone and saw that the GPS showed the train traveling in circles.
That was when she became genuinely suspicious.

そのとき、仕切り板の向こうで、笑う気配がした。
「…泣くところ、そこですか」
びくっとして、缶を落としそうになった。
「壁、薄いんです。すみません。…僕も、同じ場面で、泣きました」
初めて、言葉を交わした。
それから、彼は、少しだけ黙った。そして、いつもの朗読の声で、言った。
「汐音さんへ。
毎朝、あなたが水をやる音を、聞いています。…」

私（45歳・IT企業勤務）は、中学時代に受けた陰湿ないじめの加害者である「アンドリュー」と、仕事の商談で再会しました。彼は私の珍しい旧姓の名刺を見て動揺し、商品の説明もまともにできず、上司も頼りになりませんでした。結局、価格やサポート面で優れた他社と契約したところ、アンドリューから「うちの商品を検討したか」とメールが届き、「過去に囚われて私情を挟むのは間違っている」という稚拙な内容の追撃メールが送られてきました。
私は過去のいじめの件を自分の会社には知られたくありませんが、このような人間を雇っている会社のデメリットを、アンドリュー本人と彼の会社に伝えたいと思っています。どうすればよいでしょうか。過去のいじめや、彼がそれを持ち出していることを自社に伝え、自社からアンドリューの会社に連絡してもらうべきでしょうか？
結論：自社への相談や会社間でのトラブル化は避けるのが賢明です
自社に過去のいじめの件を相談したり、会社同士のトラブルに発展させたりすることは、お勧めしません。
一番の理由は、ご自身が「過去のいじめの件を自分の会社に知られたくない」と強く望んでいらっしゃるからです。自社に相談すれば、たとえ信頼できる上司や人事であっても、その事実が社内に広がるリスクを完全にゼロにすることはできません。また、仕事の選定は「価格・サポート面」という正当なビジネス上の理由で行われているため、そこに過去の私情を持ち込む必要は全くありません。
小学生の頃に両親が離婚し、私と2人の兄弟は母に引き取られて母方の祖父母の家で育ちました。みんな大人になった今、今年は次男の兄と私が結婚し、兄弟全員がそれぞれの家庭を持つことになりました。
子どもたちを育て上げた母にとっても、きっと喜びの節目となったはずです。そんな折、ふと、長年会っていなかった父に、唯一の娘としての自分の結婚報告をしてみたいと思い立ちました。
父とは20年以上会っておらず、家族の間で話題に上ることもありませんでした。存命なのか、どこに住んでいるのかさえ分からない状態だったため、こっそり父の戸籍を調べてみることにしたのです。以前、SNSのアイコンか何かで父が再婚して子どもがいるような気配を目にした記憶があったので、ある程度の覚悟はしていたつもりでした。
しかし、実際に戸籍を取り寄せてみると、父は母との離婚からわずか2年後、母と同郷で同い年の女性と再婚していたことが分かりました。そして間もなく、2人の子どもに恵まれていたのです。私より10歳以上も年下で、まだ学生の子どもたちでした。

This is one of those horror films that reminds me how terrifying the unknown can be. What I like most is how the story builds its fear around Quinn's desperation to reconnect with her mother. She thinks she's reaching out for comfort, but instead, she attracts something far more sinister. The atmosphere, strange encounters and growing tension make even the quiet moments uncomfortable.
