If you have 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐓𝐄 and 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐘 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐒 today, just watch the video below… 🎥 👇 It features @hullkrofficial rugby league player, magic Mikey Lewis picking up the prestigious #ManOfSteel award. This award is arguably the most coveted individual award a rugby player can be given. Rugby players spend 80 minutes on a field displaying courage, toughness, athleticism, no signs of any weakness whatsoever. Yet, this interview with Mikey to me is what real strength, courage and authenticity looks like. I don’t think Mikey will ever realise how impactful displaying his raw emotions in this clip on such a public stage will be for many men, women, boys and girls both in and out of the sport. A sport seen to be build on strength and toughness. His journey to the top wasn’t just about physical strength, it was filled with knockbacks, rejection, resilience, and the support that got him through the toughest times. His willingness to open up and share that story on such a public stage reminds us that being strong means embracing all of who we are, emotions included. If the 𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥 can show his feelings, so can we. Today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay I encourage you to talk to someone about how you're feeling. Let’s break the stigma and normalise openness, not just in sports but in every part of life. #ManOfSteel #MentalHealthMatters #TalkAboutIt #RugbyLeague #Resilience #WorldMentalHealthDay2024
