Right as it started to snow again the sun was still barely peaking out illuminating this larch as snow flakes flew up at us from the lake. #wawx

Here is a slice from a larch tree that died beneath an advancing glacier 4,213 years b2k! 🧊🌲💍 You can buy a copy (accompanied by a dendrochronological dating certificate) here: wemakeit.com/projects/glacie… and, in doing so, help me to continue this research! 🙏

Put some lights in the wood storage area under the barn, and now it looks like an urban hipster brewery

Shaping up to be a fantastic read. The intersection of mountaineering and aviation. Will post snippets.

Oh it works well with your name, both rhythm and alliteration. The Himalaya Dispatch sounds jagged rolling off the tongue, too many crests and troughs, too...mountainous? Maybe that is a good thing then? Lol I might just go back to the full name let's see

Testing it for a few days. Torn over this myself. Takes way too long to roll off the tongue either way

Mulling dropping the "The". Would it be cleaner?

His home is in a remote Peruvian village with a beautiful view of the Andes and he looks out at it lying on the roof and soaking up the mountain sun. He is a folk legend who tricks pumas into believing he's their spawn and rides the mountain spine on their shoulders. Life's good.

Ernst Platz's (1867-1940) paintings of high-stakes Alpine adventures. Ernst was part of the 'Munich Mountain Painting Triumvirate', a painter-mountaineer trio comprising Platz, Edward Theodore Compton and Rudolf Reschreiter. +

Love this photograph. Very Andean. Only Mount Kailash gives it away. Photographer unknown.

Yeah read Patagonia first. The Songlines is interesting, but I like his notebook compilations at the end more than the rest of the book. From whatever I've read of Naipaul, I think Biswas is his most personal novel, also Naipaul's coming-of-age as a novelist.
