I've been coaching for 6+ years for a living, and never really cared much about marketing
Recently saw a few colleagues posting their students and I thought why not share few of mine lately
These moments do make me love my job
My rates' 25/h (same) and I see both duos & teams.

Achieved my little goal for this season, going to focus on IRL now. (Crazy how there are so many 1k lp now...times have changed)
As a support main it is pretty obvious to me that my role is the problem and needs to be nerfed.
The role has become completely dishonest. I believe it’s partly because of its low play rate that they want champs to be viable there that look cool to other types of players that aren’t already support mains.
Support as a role can break the game. I think that is fine. Being where you need to be and supporting the entire team is the role not just supporting the bot laner.
It becomes an issue when the role is broken but then the champs that break the game are also broken.
Bard: top 3 support multiple years in a row. gets exp and ms from chimes making his roams better than other roaming supps, does incredibly high base dmg, ranged, and can go through terrain??? That’s fundamentally broken.
Neeko: old passive for dives, infinite safe vision control with W, lane bully, great 5v5 teamfighter
Sona: fimblewinter sona is the tankiest support in the game. She should explode at the slightest touch but instead she stays 70% hp, can position more aggro for her ults and exhaust auto procs, still aoe heals everyone.
Camille, Elise, poppy: one shot from lvl 1
These champs all fundamentally do something that other supports fundamentally can’t do
Champs like naut and Leona are honest champs. You know what they are going to do. They throw a spell and if you dodge it they are useless. If they engage in and it’s bad they die. They need teammates. they won’t solo kill u like Camille elise poppy panth. They also aren’t that tanky late game. More gold and exp this season means more dmg overall and faster spikes so less time for them to walk around not worried about getting one shot and able to make plays.
I don’t think straight forward champs like those NEED to be the strongest to make support balanced but having multiple dishonest game breaking playstyle supports being op for years now is what’s causing it.
There is less frustration dying to a naut hook instead of Camille scissoring you from minute 1.
There is incredible frustration losing to enchanters while playing engage when they are passive while you are forced to make plays. It’s harder to play engage vs enchanter but enchanters get all the love from the balance team.
From the support perspective, it feels better to lose while playing cam, panth, Elise, vs naut Leona rell. With those champs you can exist on your own, do dmg, feel more in charge of your destiny. If you’re on naut and team isn’t there or someone on enemy team is making mistakes you can’t capitalize everytime or as hard.
There is a balance somewhere between tank bruiser and enchanter supports that’s healthy. Rock paper scissors between them. We just aren’t there and keep straying further away from it
I have ideas to fix it but I’m yapping into the void and this twt is too long already
TLDR: Supports break game. Make support more honest without making the role one dimensional
Patch 26.16 Preview!
In 26.16, we are making several adjustments to systems that impact some of the meta developments around roaming supports, mages bot lane and some targeted nerfs to some strong items that are hampering meta diversity (eg. Sundered Sky).
We're also looking to adjust certain items portions of the ADC facing systems (eg. Fleet, Hurricane, etc.) that have been weak and are in need of buffs.
(Going to go into much more detail on the following topics in Patch Rundown)
A small note about the PBE scrape for Sunfire:
- There isn't currently an armor nerf to Sunfire, it is intended to be a net buff, in particular with an increase to its burn damage to champions while holding minion damage steady and increasing its cost to make a clearer choice point with Hollow Radiance.
A note about Nasus:
- After evaluating his most recent state, we don't think that Nasus Jungle is in need of a nerf right now (though he is present and popular, which is fine for a champion to be)
- Nasus is a champ with quite a shallow mastery curve and a starting high level of proficiency for novices, so his high winrates can be misleading
- We do think Nasus top is in need of a buff however, and so the current set of changes are targeted at giving a relative buff to Nasus top, while being power neutral on Jungle
Mages Bot
- While Mages Bot and roaming supports experienced a significant upswing in Pro Play in the weeks following MSI, over the past week in particular, their presence in Pro Play has experienced a pretty sharp downtrend
- Teams seem a lot better at playing against it and in particular the roaming supports
- That said, we still intend to make some changes to the dynamic to improve the quality of the experience in regular play in particular as well as tap down on Support roaming, which we think is undesirable gameplay overall (many ADC's weren't designed with being duelists in mind, 1v1 is less exciting & lower depth of gameplay, players enjoy the 2v2 lane, etc.)
- Broadly, we're not looking to change the dynamic of some of the ways that these mage vs ADC matchups play out, even though they are being commonly requested by the community as they contribute to desirable class differentiation and satisfaction. We believe this is very important for League's long term longevity and diversity of play experience (in the same way we wouldn't by default nerf Assassins, without a combination of player frustration + design reasoning of why it makes the game better)
- eg. Things like Mages having access to lots of mana on Lost Chapter, having different (and in many cases) situationally stronger power spikes than ADC's on certain breakpoints, ability to waveclear, etc. are core expectations, satisfaction points and areas of gameplay differentiation for the class
- There is a level of player frustration where we would tone back on some of these elements, but don't believe the current situation meets that threshold and that a combination of small nudges will make an impact
- For regular players in particular, where we want to give ADC's back some power in surviving some of the early magic damage from champs that aren't typically seen in Pro Play and are frequently killing them in early lane (eg. Brand, Swain, etc.) and buffing some of the weaker systems pieces of the class (Berskers, Fleet, etc.)
Roaming Supports
- While the Roaming Support gameplay can be interesting when seeing it every few games, the current state of it is a bridge too far
- Many supports in the current Pro Play metagame are defined by their ability to leave the lane at level 3 and worse is copycats in regular play thinking they're able to do it and griefing the whole game over it
- As mentioned above, we also think the gameplay patterns of this are pretty undesirable
- We're making some targeted adjustments to the support role quest to penalize some of these roaming behaviors and targeted anti-support skewed nerfs to Poppy, Camille and Hail of Blades (which is predominantly used by many of these champions)
- For Camille in particular, we're looking to move some of her power from support to Top lane
- For now, we're not looking to nerf the comeback XP as we want to see how impactful the out of lane penalty is and the comeback XP plays an important role in anti-snowballing + helping players who accidentally disconnected (among other things)
- In theory, extending the out of lane penalty will also mean that supports are returning to lane around level 5, which also reduces the impact of the comeback XP at the relevant XP breakpoints
More on other things later
(may be anecdotal, personal experience) In the past when you were 0-8 you’re weak with no gold (which I thought was fair for you being 0-8), now I find myself regularly having to respect even 0/8 Camille support hob walking around with 1 item (as an example)

The MSI journey ends here for the reigning World Champions.
You gave it your all and gave us all an amazing series.
We'll definitely see you back at Worlds. GGWP, and thank you, T1! 🫡
Jayce…:(
Patch 26.14 Preview!
MSI is in full swing! Had some awesome games and we're pretty happy with the meta overall. There's decent representation across each class (assassins in jungle, a few LeBlanc picks).
Nerfing down some of the strongest picks in bot lane have also led to mages bot being more present in the meta.
We don't find this state particularly problematic right now, but we have had several conversations about the true power level of mages bots (especially when they carry high winrates). That said, there are a few that are over performing in soloq (seraphine) so she's receiving a nerf, but the overall conversation is a lot more nuanced (which pairings, familiarity as opponents, etc.)
Locke
- Locke has had a really resonant start
- players have resonated with his executes, resets and stack into burst gameplay
- he's shown to be a little skill skewed in the same way that a Katarina, akshan or other resetty, roamy champions might be, but not overly so
- that said he's still a bit strong when account for mastery growth and true power level
- his level of early game snowballing is a bit too high right now
- that said, we think his damage is appropriate if he needs to work a little harder to access it. As a result we're nerfing his waveclear (currently) to hit his ability to access it so reliably
- we know that one of the things that players find confronting is his damage output right now, but we think it's valuable to retain these types of unique edges in the game for champions
Systems
- Rocket belt has been one of the premier items for mages (especially immobile) at the highest level for several months now.
- We like and embrace this type of innovation, but it's also providing a bit too much versatility and removing a core weakness of these champs (ability to be killed), so forcing a bit stronger of a tradeoff
- The other major systems change for this patch is a nerf to the mid boots upgrade for gluttonous greaves
- it's adding a nice texture for playing say, mid vs top riven, but it's also the strongest performing boot in that lane and lacks clear counterplay
- again, the innovation here is great, but just a bit strong
I already knew this was going to be case since this is (probably) my final year in academia, but still - 4 weeks between my game(s) is a sign of serious aging & responsibilities. #old
What causes a player to go from friendly neighbourhood Ornn chillguy to barrier warwick top abuser (we created a monster)
A strong jayce is one that spaces really well and gets tested on that while being very vulnerable, and finds his windows of execution. Jungle takes away so much of that expression of skill almost even without mastery of champ (if these jg-mod changes achieve intended effect).
1. Zed's jg clear is WAY too fast, he's not fundamentally a jungler I don't know why he's made viable there.
2. Talon jg / Qiyana jg - (??) completely bypass lane fundamentals that the champs are supposed to go through. It's like giving fizz/kata an insane jg clear modifier. Why
:(
