If we’re being honest, None of them. Every adaptation completely misses what made Chris Hargensen horrifying in King’s book. 1976 & 2013 turned her into a cartoon mean girl. 2026 tries to soft-pedal her with "trauma" to make her sympathetic. Book Chris wasn't a sociopath or a victim, she was a spoiled, entitled product of elite privilege who genuinely believed she was above accountability. Cinema keeps trying to sanitize or sensationalize raw, unvarnished human spite. #Carrie
