I am excited to share our #SIGGRAPHAsia2025 ToG paper, co-authored with Eugene d'Eon, @rohansawhney1, and my PhD advisor @wkjarosz. We introduce a new method that accelerates Walk on Spheres (WoS) by orders of magnitude.

The Robin BC here (top middle) prescribes a radiant flux precomputed via ray tracing on a texture (left) to model oven radiation. Solving the Laplace equation simulates heat conduction in the turkey leg (bottom middle). Our method effectively reduces noise vs. WoSt (right). [6/6]

I’m excited to announce our #SIGGRAPHAsia2025 paper on making the rendering of Gaussian process implicit surfaces (GPIS) practical: cs.dartmouth.edu/~wjarosz/pu…. We achieve this with a novel procedural noise formulation and by enabling next-event estimation for specular BRDFs. [1/7]

With support for WebGPU, my tracer has also updated to version 2.0. lgltracer.com/ There is still a lot of work to do and things to learn. I will keep going👏👏👏 #webgpu #webgl #raytracing #threejs

Excited to be presenting our latest research at SIGGRAPH 2023 next Tuesday, where we’ll introduce a novel adaptive sampling method for rendering. We derive a method of estimating a neural network’s output variance, which we apply to the same denoiser used in popular...

3rd place!🤓
Woohoo! Bragging time: my students @DartmouthCS were involved in two out of three of the winning entries in this year’s Computer Graphics Forum cover competition: vcg.isti.cnr.it/cgf/winner.p… Congrats also to Peter Mindek for snagging first place!

It is such a great honor to take @wkjarosz 's Rendering Algorithms at Dartmouth and win the 1st prize (with @YunquanGu)! Cannot wait to get involved in some cool research projects on rendering afterwards!
My Rendering Algorithms class wrapped up last week with the next iteration of the Dartmouth Rendering Competition (with prizes generously sponsored by NVIDIA). The student’s submissions were amazing! Check them out yourself here: cs.dartmouth.edu/~rendering-…

The Realistic Graphics Lab is looking to recruit a *PhD student* and a *Research Engineer*. We develop algorithms and systems that invert the process of rendering to reconstruct realistic 3D worlds from images. A bit like "TensorFlow", but for physical simulations of light.

This is amazing! One could deep dive into a **real** production renderer (besides cycles, luxcorerender and appleseed etc.) in the industry now.
