Yesterday was a reminder of an old problem for Scottish History. No matter how much work professional historians do on the subtleties of the past, any celebrity establishment figure with motivation, a Dacre or RS, can by-pass & drown it out easily with politicized pseudo-history.

Honestly still donโt think enough is made of this basically being Scottish. The biggest entertainment release of all time - bigger than any film or TV series - and it all started above a chippy in Dundee and still largely comes out of Edinburgh. Mental.
