As we wrap up the end of Pride Month we want to remind everyone that LGBTQIA+ people are welcomed and celebrated by NHHRC all year long, not just during pride month. We encourage others to do that same.

Today is International Sex Workers’ Day.
ISWD is held to mark the 1975 occupation of Saint-Nizier Church by around 100 sex workers, protesting their criminalised & exploitative living conditions. Sex workers continue to mark the day by calling for fulfilment of their rights.

ALT A colourful illustration of three figures around a central placard that reads "international sex workers day, 2 June". The two figures at the front are black women and one has her fist raised to the sky in protest. The figure behind the placard is an Asian woman who also has her arm raised above her head in protest.

A9: Our work wouldn’t be possible w/o our community–which has always been led & for people who use drugs, many of whom were/are BIPOC LGBTQIA2S+ folks who literally took the safety & well-being of those around them into their own hands through street work, advocacy, & radical ❤️.
Q9. We know our missions aren’t possible without all the people who support us along the way. Give a shout out to your participants, volunteers, donors and board members!

A6: Harm Reduction has created the space that we have. Without it, LLC would cease to exist! It allows us and our members to have nuanced conversations with one another that accounts for our exp with drugs, with sex work, with our queer identities.
Q6. How has Harm Reduction changed your life or the lives of people in your community?
