Hard to watch the Man City bench defiantly celebrating the win there, as if they're the ones who have been wronged

This is the literal reason why sportswashing works. This is exactly the aim.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham would be "really concerned" to lose Manchester City owners as a result of club being found guilty of Premier League financial rule breaches, by an independent commission. The club are expected to appeal the decision.

You never see Odegaard this angry. He knows full well Bernardo has gone out purely to hurt him. Understandably furious.
This coward rat has been part of a cheating culture his whole career. Disgusting human being. Have you ever seen Ødegaard like this? 😡 xitter.cf/_Dilsinho/status/21043…

Arsène Wenger won 21 trophies in his managerial career. Imagine what he would’ve won if hadn’t been competing with Bernard Tapie, Roman Abramovich and Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

I genuinely don’t think it’s ridiculous to say the Premier league is a better place without City, or at least not worse off. Despite all their success, they’ve never felt like a very impactful club to me, maybe I’m in the minority here though 🤷‍♂️

Declan Rice emerges from all this as the undisputed King of England. Rejected Man City, then beat those cheaters anyway.

Yup. Simply cannot be trusted not to break the rules again.
The owners should be forced to sell and leave. No way should they be allowed to continue to run the football club after this. Points deductions/relegation/fines, etc, is not enough. The owners have to be held accountable.

Obviously not the main takeaway from the game but the way pl refs are influenced by home crowds is quite remarkable
Sunderland took an average of 22.5 seconds per throw in. They had 12 that took longer than 20 seconds, 5 that took longer than 30 seconds, and 3 that took longer than 40 seconds.

An example because I'm petty: I timed a random Danso throw-in at 29 seconds. Calafiori was whistled for taking too long at 18 seconds.
A technical area yellow for Arteta, denying Arsenal a corner before half, Sunderland taking five minutes per throw-in, phantom penalty on a shirt pull ... from Ballard. You'll rarely witness such committed #NarrativeRefereeing.

Half a billion spent on central midfielders alone by Manchester City since summer of 2022. A lot of that recouped by player trading. I know there’s no fix but to me this sport becomes more boring when clubs & coaches don’t have to manage their way around the mistakes they make.

Illan, thanks for the 45 minutes in the Emirates Cup but it’s time to say goodbye.

I love Skelly but what Wilshere evoked in me can only be matched by witnessing the birth of my first child
