Hackney being twinned with Haifa in Israel serves to normalise the crimes of apartheid, genocide and ethnic cleansing. #DetwinHackney
We've written to @mayorofhackney urging Hackney Council to end its twinning relationship with Haifa. So long as Israel continues its apartheid, occupation and genocide against Palestinians, twinning relationships with Israeli cities serve to normalise these crimes.

Yesterday, Hackney MP Meg Hillier said in Parliament that London boroughs "twinning with Jewish, sorry, with Israeli cities is an important thing to do" so that people can talk and build peace. We disagree. Twinning with an apartheid regime gives it legitimacy. #DetwinHackney
