More renewable energy means more renewable energy storage. We need to be able to convert renewable energy to fuel & use that fuel later - all without emitting CO2. #ThursdayThoughts #ClimateChange #ClimateChangeReport xitter.cf/StatistaCharts/status/… (1/13)
A damning new report from the @IPCC_CH has laid out a very ambitious target for the world if it is to keep avoid #climatechange catastrophe in the near future - via @gcarbonproject statista.com/chart/15737/glo…

All fossil fuel companies are grossly overvalued because they cannot realise the assets that are on their books if we are to keep Earth broadly habitable.

you really gotta love the potential of green hydrogen

It’s not whether hydrogen is needed. FCE Trucks are often cheaper than BEVs if the amount of use per truck is high.
Sorry, wasn't specific enough but meant for purely personal automobile use. H2 for heavy industry like steel grand, buses / lorries not so sure. BEV buses seem great, not sure H2 is needed there. What I've read re. Japan doesn't seem great.

wow. Look at that map.
While #energytwitter debates 'Blue vs Green' Hydrogen, IEA shows Latin America potential Green H2 at $ .80 - 2 kg. The key word is Export. Lithium is not a fuel. You export it once. Hydrogen via solar/wind is endless. Multiple regions can become H2 export power players

Most EV chargers are tied to the grid - only reason the below is true is Seattle is blessed with hydropower.
Replying to @huprice @h2globe
And yes - the EV charger at my home and my parent’s home is solar powered by the solar arrays on our roofs. There’s thousands of such homes and solar arrays or wind powering charging stations around the world. Any charger in Seattle is zero carbon, b/c our city⚡️is zero carbon.

Adding EVs to the grid will increase the importance of firm power decarbonization. We need to roll out battery storage fast to reduce the increased CO2 emissions from electric vehicle charging. Hoping we do!

Batteries in EVs does not burn? Here is one of many recent fires : theverge.com/2021/7/2/225606… You see for a suitable battery for an EV: high energy density, safety: pick one of the two. How many FCEV "explosions" are there?

well put. too much technology snobbery decarbonization over efficiency nitpickers

no love on this but it's low key huge that the supply chain is on the same page in order to enable deep reductions in the cost of green hydrogen
