🏆 This has to win Clip of the Year.
Nigel Farage confidently predicts Trump will defy the polls because Republicans are brilliantly organised and Elon Musk didn’t spend $450 million just for fun 🤣🤣🤣
Hours later: Trump repudiated, both houses lost and Musk’s money incinerated, even in Texas.
Perfect. No notes. 😂
It’s news to me that a regional mayor can sign any sort of international trade deal (clue: they can’t), let alone a “landmark” one. Investment and opportunities are always welcome but this is misrepresentation.
This morning, I signed a landmark trade agreement with Tainan in Taiwan, strengthening ties between our regions and creating new opportunities for trade, investment and innovation.
Greater Lincolnshire has a huge amount to offer, and this agreement is another step towards showing the world what we do best. 🇹🇼 🇬🇧
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
UK mayors cannot sign binding international trade agreements (reserved for central UK government); Taiwanese reports describe this as a sister city twinning agreement, and prior official statements called it a non-binding MOU for local cooperation.

Trump has crossed another line demanding the removal of Ukraine’s democratically elected president because Zelensky refuses to protect the Russian refineries financing and supplying Putin’s invasion.
Let that sink in: the US president is calling for regime change in an allied democracy to safeguard a hostile dictator’s oil infrastructure and lower American diesel prices before the midterms.
Putin has offered no ceasefire and made no concession. Within hours of Trump’s deal, Russian strikes killed Ukrainian civilians, including children. Yet Trump rewards Moscow with sanctions relief and attacks Kyiv for fighting back.
This is not mediation. It is coercion of the victim, appeasement of the aggressor and open interference in Ukraine’s democracy.
Andy Burnham is right to stand firmly with Zelensky. Europe must now prepare to defend Ukraine and its own security without assuming America remains a reliable ally.

There is a cure for the scientific ignorance displayed by @MichelleDewbs here. Get a doctor to come on air and explain it to you. But she’s hardly the worst offender. Anti-vax conspiracism is just part of the culture of @GBNEWS. Great news for fans of preventable disease, tho.
I’ve just watched a whole BBC documentary about the rapid increase in cancer among the young..
It explored food & lifestyle choices, even body sprays & plastics.
Not once tho, did they explore whether getting young healthy people vaccinated over & over with a product that had no long term health data, may have played a role🤔

I did an event at the @reformparty_uk conference last year - while I was there I clocked a few fringe conspiracy nuts, including someone who filmed himself harassing grieving widows at the Covid memorial wall. Shame they can get accredited but not the great @MichaelLCrick
Note: Iceland is part of Erasmus for students, Schengen and is absolutely part of the single market. I assume Farage is aware of this and endorsing Iceland’s version of “independence” over and above the isolationism he sold the UK.

MattGPT @GoodwinMJ, what is your problem?
Came here 20 years ago from Somalia, did voluntary work, got a degree, worked in the public sector, became a councillor and seems like he’s done a good job.

We worry about kids being damaged by the lies they read online. What about middle-aged TV presenters who drink the toilet water of conspiracy culture and then regurgitate it on an @Ofcom regulated TV channel?

GBP is currently up 0.002 to the USD.
Robert Jenrick once helped Richard Desmond avoid pay a £40m levy which would have been spent on schools and nurseries.
Hey @coastfashion any response to this? Carol left a message for your agent with a promise of a reply within an hour or so 24 hours ago.

@coastfashion Should have delivered by 30/3. Stuck in a loop communicating with a bot and the promise of an agent engaging with me never materialises & it is the only way to get an answer. No other way of contact. Atrocious. @GuyClapperton
To want to explain everything in detail is to want to help. But in a media interview this can be high-risk - ask me why and what to do about it! #mediatraining #publicrelations #mediamentorguy
Well, sort of - interviews are more like the Q and A after a keynote speech. But if you start performing screeds you've been rehearsing, the interviewer and the audience will switch their attention elsewhere. Really quickly. #mediatraining #publicrelations #mediamentorguy
Yes you should go into every media interview prepared - but the trend, particularly in the light of so many hit podcasts, is to keep it informal. #mediatraining #publicrelations #mediamentorguy

Farage? Lying out of his backside?
I'm shocked, that's so unlike him...
Those questions and answers you've lovingly scripted for that interview? Bad news about that... #mediatraining #publicrelations #mediamentorguy
Media training clients sometimes ask whether they can control what the journalist asks. Usually that's a "no" but you can control your answers. #mediatraining #publicrelations #mediamentorguy
