🧠 Breakthrough Peer-Reviewed PoW Security Paper (mechanics already LIVE in GRIDNET OS )
📖 Read free (Open Access): mdpi.com/2078-2489/16/12/106…
As many of you know we've been under attack by current crypto establishment not once and not twice (make sure to keep track of our Discord Live-Development channel - streaming almost each and every day since early 2017).
Wave attacks are a critical but under-addressed PoW threat: attackers strategically leave and re-enter mining to manipulate difficulty adjustment, degrading liveness and harming honest miners. This directly leads to deteriorated responsiveness of the entire system ( it's difficult for the system to restore Liveness, difficulty keeps jumping all over the place, transactions not being processed and so on - we've been targeted many times, we know that pain).
Our Chief Researcher & Scientist Rafał Skowroński just published a peer-reviewed paper in Information (MDPI):
“Liveness over Fairness (Part I): A Statistically Grounded Framework for Detecting and Mitigating PoW Wave Attacks”.
✅ What’s inside (high level):
• A production-ready framework that prioritizes liveness while enabling robust post-hoc detection
• Statistically grounded anomaly detection + Benjamini–Hochberg FDR control
• Collusion grouping via union-find
• Mathematical proof: with penalties on unvested rewards, wave attacks become asymptotically unprofitable
• Evaluated on a 128-node testbed (Bitcoin / ETC / Monacoin sims): 92.7% F1 detection
This work is a direct outcome of real attacks we faced while deploying GRIDNET OS — the blockchain backing the first decentralized operating system.
We’re publishing it open access because we believe in freedom and decentralization, and we want other PoW projects — especially early-stage chains — to be able to defend themselves with battle-tested methodology🙏🧙♂️

$GNC @gridnetproject - Save this tweet
After spending a couple of hours trying to wrap my head around the whitepaper of $GNC, here is a short but comprehensive summary of why this could be one of the most ambitious (if not the most) projects of any cycle!
RIP Windows and Mac? 💀🪦 Time will tell....
🌌 Introduction
@gridnetproject introduces a groundbreaking, fully decentralised computing environment, akin to Windows/Linux, but uniquely decentralized. This ecosystem supports a high-speed cryptocurrency and doesn't require any installation, revolutionizing how we interact with digital spaces. Unlike traditional operating systems, Gridnet operates entirely online, offering unprecedented accessibility and flexibility. This environment promises a seamless experience, bringing together the benefits of decentralised technology with the familiarity of conventional operating systems.
📜 Constitution of the GRIDNET Community
The constitution of Gridnet is built on foundational principles that prioritise innovation and eschew traditionalism. By design, the system avoids reliance on any trusted entities, including its own development team, ensuring a truly decentralised framework. Central to its ethos is the commitment to provide Sybil-proof incentives, ensuring fairness and security in transactions and interactions. Gridnet sets itself apart from other blockchain projects by steadfastly adhering to its initial monetary supply rules, creating a stable and predictable financial environment.
🏗️ The Architecture
Gridnet's architecture is an intriguing blend of modern web technologies like JavaScript and HTML5, which facilitates the creation of unique decentralized applications (dApps). This approach allows for the development of applications with capabilities far beyond traditional platforms, leveraging the decentralized nature of blockchain technology. The architecture's design enables developers to create powerful, user-friendly applications that capitalize on Gridnet's robust and flexible infrastructure.
🧑💻 User’s Identity within GRIDNET
Gridnet places a strong emphasis on user anonymity and fairness, particularly in terms of transaction fees and reward distribution. Users have the option to create and register Identity Tokens within the GRIDNET-OS decentralized state-machine. This feature enhances user experience by enabling rewards for data exchange participation and allowing for user-friendly interactions through easy-to-remember identifiers like ‘Wizard201’. This approach balances anonymity with functionality, offering a user-centric experience.
📡 The Communication Subsystem
The communication subsystem in Gridnet is a marvel of innovation, featuring a multi-layered, incentivized structure that uses a variety of protocols like TCP, UDP, WebSockets, and WebRTC. This system not only supports robust and versatile communication options but also incentivizes data exchange at every step through State-Less Blockchain Channels. It's designed to be accessible for both JavaScript and C++ developers, providing a comprehensive API that opens up new possibilities in decentralized communication.
🌐 Decentralized Applications
Gridnet's approach to decentralized applications is groundbreaking. It allows for multitasking and ensures strict boundaries between applications, similar to traditional operating systems. However, it extends these concepts into the decentralized space, allowing each dApp to operate within its own secure, isolated environment. This ensures that dApps running on GRIDNET-OS are secure, reliable, and efficient, with each having its own address space and memory management, governed by the platform’s consensus mechanics.
⚙️ Consensus Mechanics
Gridnet adopts an advanced version of the Bitcoin-NG consensus protocol, aiming for high transaction throughput. This setup allows the system to handle transactions rapidly, limited only by network propagation times and the computational power of the decentralized state-machine. Unlike more traditional blockchain systems, Gridnet's approach to consensus mechanics is designed to support a high degree of scalability and efficiency, making it well-suited for a wide range of applications.
🔐 Accessibility and Authentication
The platform introduces novel cryptographic and authentication methods, enhancing both security and ease of use. These advancements include unique public-key encryption techniques and intuitive authentication processes. Gridnet's focus on cryptography extends to ensuring that operations within its environment are secure, authenticated, and verifiable, catering to both novice and experienced users.
💻 #JavaScript Context
The user interface of Gridnet is built using the latest version of JavaScript, offering developers a powerful toolkit for creating dApps. This JavaScript context abstracts the complexities of the decentralized environment, enabling the development of user-friendly applications. These dApps can leverage the full power of users' local computing resources while integrating seamlessly with Gridnet's decentralized VM, providing a balanced and efficient use of resources.
💾 Data Storage
Gridnet employs a dual-layer storage system, combining immutable storage within the decentralized VM with a dynamic, incentive-compatible Torrent protocol. This two-tier approach ensures data integrity and availability while incentivizing data hosting and distribution. Users experience a familiar, intuitive interface for data access and management, akin to traditional file systems, but with the added benefits of decentralization.
Tokenomics of GRIDNET ($GNC)
Token Mechanics
Gridnet's tokenomics are intricate and integral to its ecosystem. The system incorporates Identity Tokens, Token Pools, and Transmission Tokens within State-Less Blockchain Channels to facilitate secure, off-the-chain rewards. This setup offers a more efficient, scalable approach to handling transactions, especially for large-scale data transfers.
Data Storage and Exchange Incentivization
The platform's Torrent-storage subsystem employs modified Token Pools, termed 'Multi-Dimensional Token Pools', to incentivize data storage and exchange. These pools are designed to support a high volume of concurrent peers and transactions, making Gridnet's data exchange system both robust and efficient.
User Participation in Tokenomics
Users are actively involved in the tokenomics through the creation and deployment of Token Pools by sacrificing a certain amount of $GNC. This process is made user-friendly, with options to use either a command line or a graphical interface. The Token Pools represent an off-the-chain value store, with users defining the structure and value of tokens within the pool.
Off-the-Chain Rewards and Verification
Rewards for data delivery are distributed off-the-chain, with tokens representing a portion of the total value in the Token Pool. This structure allows for efficient on-the-chain storage and verification, enhancing the overall security and efficiency of the system.
Decentralization Ethos and Regulatory Compliance
Gridnet's ethos is deeply rooted in decentralization and freedom. The project aligns with anti-money laundering guidelines and ensures that ICO assets are immediately tradable, treating them more as utilities than securities. This approach reflects Gridnet's commitment to innovation, flexibility, and user empowerment.
Conclusion
GRIDNET stands as a pioneer in the realm of decentralized computing, merging advanced architecture, user identity management, communication protocols, and dApp development with a unique tokenomic model. It's characterized by its commitment to anonymity, security, and community-driven progress, heralding a new era in blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Replying to @solidity_lang
@solidity_lang imagine this:
a remote smart-contract is invoked in real-time from user's terminal. The dApp instructs the system that it wants its invocation to affect the state of the decentralized state machine.
And it would.
Invocations of intermittent commands would not be affecting the DSM at all (even though presenting results to user in real-time), until the dApp is invoked yet again.
