Rainy day in Portland for #CANVAS26
@GOSEEDCO will be giving away #CoverCrop umbrellas today during the lunch hour and poster sessions today. Swing by our booth on aisle 400 to get yours.
#CANVAS2026 is open. Swing by and grab your cover crop umbrella from @GOSEEDCO while supplies last. We will have more for the evening poster session if you miss this drop.
We've received the umbrellas for the Tri-Societies Meeting in Portland next week. Follow @GOSEEDCO to find out when and where we will be giving them out.
This field was planted with 75 lbs. of wheat and 5 lbs. of TapIt Hybrid Brassica. The goal was for it to serve as a smother crop. I would say the goal is being met.
It will be interesting to see the effect of TapIt's roots on soil compaction. @GOSEEDCO

If in Oregon, giving away umbrellas makes sense. Looking at new swag. Great creativity from our marketing.
Harvest is well underway at the Salem Oregon research farm. Brassicas, Camelina, and Kentucky Bluegrass are all drying down.
And so it begins, #harvest2026 . This is an experimental camelina. Every plant will be individually harvested and tracked through the threshing and cleaning process. Next up rape and othe brassicas.

Just a quick reminder, the herbicides that you choose this Spring when planting can limit the cover crop you can grow this fall. This is especially true with legumes, grow your own N.
Was out looking at some cereal rye blocks and noticed some dense, heavy tillering plants that are less than half the height of the surrounding plants. Any interest in a high density, short statured cereal rye?
While the data is an extrapolation of research conducted on 4" diameter by 36" deep tubes, the data points to the fact that not all cover crops are the same. The Survivor Winter Peas put out some amazing roots.
Good to see Frosty making biological N.
Legumes are beneficial #covercrops because they can fix nitrogen. However, suitability may differ widely among species. Crimson clover struggles on our wet soils.
On the other hand, Frosty Berseem clover is an outstanding and consistent producer.

It is nice to see some measurable improvements to build on for the future in this camelina block. Got scolded by the patent attorney for tweeting too many details iykyk #covercrops
