ALT A purple and teal illustration of a woman in a warped stadium. She's looking up at a screenshot of the Publishers Marketplace announcement for House Hunters. The announcement reads: "Kelly Bull's House Hunters series, the author's debut, about a woman who must fight her neighbors in a series of deadly battles in lieu of paying rent, pitched as Squid Game meets Scott Pilgrim, to Tess Banta at 23rd Street, in a good deal, in a pre-empt, in a three-book deal, by Jane Chun at Transatlantic Literacy Agency (world)."

ALT Between 7 October 2023 and 30 June 2024: Approximately 83% of all plant life in Gaza was destroyed. Approximately 70% of Gaza’s agricultural land, 104 sq km (out of 150 sq km) of fields and orchards, were destroyed. More than 3,700 greenhouse structures in Gaza, 45% of its total, were destroyed. More than 47% of groundwater wells and 65% of water tanks were destroyed or damaged. The status of 29% of the wells is unknown. None of the wastewater treatment facilities in Gaza have remained intact or functional.

ALT After the army gathered the families they were led from inside the school to another location, and it was here that the crowds were separated — children in one place, men in another, and women in yet another. Mothers saw their children lying on the ground and screamed without being able to reach out to them, as any of the mothers who attempted to move were either shot directly by the soldiers, or by quadcopter drones hovering overhead.

ALT As for the women and children, the soldiers made the women climb out of the ditch one woman at a time, ordered them to pick up a child from the ground at random, and told to walk in a predetermined route that took them south. Women were forced to pick up children who were not their own at the army’s orders and made to march on, leaving their own children behind and hoping that some other woman would pick them up.
