AIOBCSA presented its views at the National OBC Strategic Meeting in Nagpur and reaffirmed its commitment to actively participate in the movement demanding the inclusion of all castes in the Census with proper and standardised caste codes. This will help in deepening of the social justice and empowerment of OBCs.

We are participating in the OBC Strategic Meeting organised by the Sakala OBC Mahamorcha in Nagpur, Maharashtra, alongside more than 75 OBC organisations. Our key demands include a comprehensive Caste Census with standardised, unique codes for every caste, the removal of the 50% reservation ceiling, and the realisation of social justice for OBCs. Census 2027 must count every caste—not leave caste identity to an open column. We strongly support a scientifically accurate and comprehensive caste enumeration. Every caste must have a distinct and unique caste code/dropdown option to ensure reliable caste-wise data. An open-ended column risks inconsistent entries, duplication, undercounting and the invisibility of communities—undermining the very purpose of caste enumeration. No proper data, no proper justice.
