We’ve been working on a way to share lists of your favorite places on @gowalla for a little while now, and I’m excited to give y’all a 👀 today. Lists will be shareable in app & beyond on social media or the web. Here’s one I’ve been working on for Napa: gowalla.com/lists/napa-valle…

huge shout out to the nearly 3,000 map makers who have now contributed 75,000 places to the Gowalla map! we literally wouldn’t be anywhere without you 💜💜💜 if you’ve added a place to the map prior to the 75K milestone, the pin will be added to your passport soon! 🍦

OG and New G side by side!! 👀
Carl Jeffrey@fellowcreative24 Mar 2023
So @Gowalla app originally launched in 2007. It's still installed on my original iPhone2G. Out walking this morning I tried the new 2023 relaunched version. I created Rochester Castle, Rochester Cathedral & The Nags Head pub. No virtual goodies unlocked yet?🤞 Is #Medway playing?

Gowalla is a location-based social networking service. It originally launched in 2007 and closed in 2012, but was relaunched on March 10, 2023. Users were able to check in at "Spots" in their local vicinity and checking-in would sometimes produce virtual "items" for the user. In November 2010 there were approximately 600,000 users.

we’ve been told we should rebrand as Gowalla AI… but we’re torn on whether we should domain it as gowall.ai or gowalla.ai nah jk this is an OG dot com operation

📇 New build in the App Store! Today’s release fixes a bug that prevented folks with VERY LARGE address books from syncing their contacts. Now you can be as social as you want (or not)! If you were stuck and couldn’t connect with friends, let’s try again. ✨

IMPORTANT: New App Store build this morning fixes a sign up bug where the app provided an unhelpful error if you attempted to create a username already in use. ALSO IMPORTANT: Reactions are now ANIMATED 👋💗🔥✨ in the carousel!!
