“@GitRules for GitHub” is an upcoming GitHub App that matches open-source projects with developers using market-based price discovery. Here’s how it works:
1.Users describe projects in GitHub issues
2.Anyone can sponsor a GitHub issue by staking fiat or crypto (via Stripe) towards its resolution
3.Sponsors can change their stakes at any time before an issue is resolved
4.After a pull request resolving the issue is merged, the author is rewarded the total stake

Gov4Git (now @GitRules) essentially enables developers to run software projects like worker-owned companies.

Indeed it is one of the biggest economic externalities in existence. Little of this $9 trillion is flowing back through the OS ecosystem. We at @gov4git believe the root cause is hiding in plain sight: OS communities have no model or tools for governance.

@gov4git’s plural management protocol papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.… navigates between token reward and reputation (a manifestation of peer review) by combining them. A quadratic market incentivizes users to bet their own “reputation tokens” after reviewing the contributions of others.

Great article by @glenweyl and @dsallentess on the biggest risks of GFMs. With a focus on democratic engagement, and safeguarding against collapse and singularity, @Gov4Git emerges as a beacon for democratic inputs in GFM development, #Gov4Git #GFMs buff.ly/3RJA0sL
This private release gave us a chance to ensure @gov4git is operationally robust. The upcoming public release will be a quantum leap in terms of features and community engagement.
Our private pilot of @gov4git was a success! Community members collectively steered our priorities and we addressed all the issues they prioritized. Perhaps the first example of formal collective feedback steering book writing priorities.
