The 🇨🇦House of Commons Standing Committee on Health in Canada includes 12 members: 11 men & only 1 woman.
The Health Committee’s role is “to study & report on all matters relating to the mandate, management, & operation of Health Canada,” among other health responsibilities.
Currently, the Health Committee of 11 men and only 1 woman is conducting an important study on Women’s Health.
Interestingly, 2 of the Committee’s members were featured on the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada list and the Campaign Life Coalition list of MPs with an anti-choice / pro-life stance.
Interestingly, this Health Committee is responsible for the oversight of four agencies, including the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), which has been under scrutiny for “Bias against funding Canada's female scientists.”

How does this happen here in Canada in 2023? Let's discuss. Drop your thoughts in the comments.
[Personal note: As someone who struggled with a serious & debilitating women's health condition, which was the fight of a lifetime to access care, treatment, & surgery, the above causes me great concern. Women's health issues are understudied & underfunded. In Canada, it would be reassuring to see more women at these decision-making tables.]
