Apropos of nothing, a family friend once arrived at Heathrow with a roast goose from Hong Kong, and was told he cannot bring it into the UK and it must be destroyed.
So he sat down at the customs counter and ate the entire goose at 5:30 am, attracting an astonished audience.

No need to worry. I took care of the domain for you. You can now (or as soon as the change propagates) get your builds at sexyjdk.com. Good luck trying to change the name of your distro.

There are lots of single letter variables to avoid.
j looks too much like a semicolon
t looks too much like a plus sign
l looks too much like a one
o looks too much like a zero
If you've ever spent 2 hours debugging code because the 1 was actually an L, you know what I mean.

I am elated to announce that the Supreme Court ruled today that API reimplementation is fair use. This brings a ten year odyssey to an end. I'll have more to say later when I've had time to read the opinion.

I called this outcome a decade ago. Reimplementing a software API—copyrighted or not—constitutes fair use, and now we have official legal backing for that assertion. Regardless of your opinion of Oracle or Google, this is a great day for software freedom.
