every time I read a recipe with “chop spring onions on an angle” I chop them straight across and mutter under my breath “fuck you, 90° is an angle too”

“In some cases the audio balance may unexpectedly drift towards the left or right channel. This can happen if you rapidly press the volume up or down keys while the computer's microprocessor is under heavy load.” — known macos issue since 2012 :-/ support.apple.com/kb/TA22305…

Yesterday morning, the GPS week counter rollover impacted certain Vaisala’s older sounding system ground equipment generations despite our preparations. We are currently working intensively around the clock to find a fix to this problem.

A new continent has been added to the radiosonde_auto_rx radiosonde tracking network - there is now a station in Antarctica! A big thanks to Matt VK0HZ for giving it a go :-)

The designer had this very same problem that's why he added in a dimmer function! Simply press set + alarm + vol up for 2 sec, while still pressing vol down + set, now release all other keys for 5 sec while pressing vol up.

This too-clever-by half clock was in my hotel room the other day. It sports bright displays on FOUR sides, a battery backup and was plugged in inaccessibly behind the bed. It seems designed to make it as difficult as possible to avoid having a bright light in your eyes in bed.

if you want to tweet a #lca2019 video, for now I'd recommend sharing it direct (don't retweet the nextdayvideo tweet) by making a new tweet with a link to the video (YT or LA mirror encodes). or subscribe to the YT channel, many are already online - youtube.com/user/linuxconfau…

A radiosonde_auto_rx station in Finland spotted a Vaisala RS41 with serial number R0210272, which means it was manufactured on the 7th of Jan 2019. It was launched on the 10th of Jan 2019, 3 days later... 1/3.

Just discovered that of the 30267 payload configuration documents in the habitat.habhub.org database, ~24000 of them (80%) were generated by radiosonde_auto_rx. 'Whoops' doesn't quite cut it. Now to figure out what to do about them.
