Credit where credit is due: the @RedHat team working on @gluster has done a great job lately. Yesterday I updated from 6.5 to 7.7 to 8.1 AND configured TLS across seven nodes in my storage cluster and it was smooth sailing. (I run it on 32-bit armv7h machines, don't tell)

Finally got @gluster working on @digitalocean and mounting correctly to #terraform created droplets. It took 2 days of learning both Gluster and Terraform but I can finally stop worrying about how to share content on droplets quickly and easily
