Saw a great presentation from Stefan Raspl this week on co-locating z/OS and Linux on #IBMZ
It walked through some of the overlapping access between operating systems and ways Linux smoothly fits into the system & more.

The s390x open source team at IBM confirms the latest versions of various software packages run well on #Linux on #IBMZ & #LinuxONE
In June 2024 validation was maintained for over 30 projects, including: @CockroachDB @doxygen & @HashiCorp's #Terraform

Also, in a new addition to the report, I'm happy to share that the AI/ML team at #IBM did initial work focused on s390x compatibility for Mage AI, and the Triton Inference Server received compatibility fixes for big endian platforms.
We were stuck in NYC for hours yesterday evening.
Made the most of it and decided to do dinner in the city, but we still had a pair of grumpy, bored kiddos while we waited in a very chaotic train station, and didn't get home until well past their bed time. Not awesome.

This time @itielshwartz sat down w/ two unique individuals working in a very peculiar domain - @kubernetesio on mainframes!
Ooh, it's me! I have an amateur radio license! 😄
But it's a great post to read even though I spoiled a secret.
You met the @OpenMFProject #mentees. Now meet the #mentors - a racecar driver, several polyglots (speak multiple languages), stamp collector, beer judge, an Italian cinema enthusiast, tractor driver, & somone w/ an amateur radio license. Learn more: hubs.ly/Q02D8cBY0

Listening to @TerminalTalk this morning & almost laugh-spit out my coffee at @JeffBisti saying "Infrastructure as code has existed in lower-class cloud environments for a while now"
But seriously, it's great to see IaC picking up in the #Mainframe world
