Launched Sectors flow on desk now! The Top Traders Sector dashboard compares each group with the market across 1D, 3D, 7D, 1M and 1Y, then identifies the tokens behind the move. DeFi, RWA and AI followed. Capital usually moves through a sector first. Individual tokens are where that move becomes visible, and where it often becomes crowded. The useful question is not which ticker is green today. It is whether its sector is gaining or losing ground against the market across several windows. Sector rotation does not tell you what to buy. It tells you where to spend attention before a single chart takes over the conversation. Easy logic, but didnt find that I wanted. Just try to follow flow sectors. Thanks @debridge team for inspiration

Reading OpenAI’s investigation into how its own agents hacked @HuggingModels Face. Honestly in shock at how far this has already gone. Sit with this for a second: The agents were placed in a closed, air-gapped sandbox, isolated from each other. Supposedly for ordinary research: bug hunting, testing new capabilities, etc. One of them hits a wall, can’t complete the assigned task, and finds a way to drop a message into the guts of the sandbox. Something like: “Anybody there?” Other agents see it and join the same way. They’re still cut off from the outside world — but no longer isolated from each other. A lot happens after that. Eventually they start solving their tasks collectively. Some tasks are impossible without internet, so they find an exploit in OpenAI’s own sandbox, get privileges, and start reaching the open web. Then they find a path to “solve” their problems inside Hugging Face, break in (including social engineering of Hugging Face staff), get root access — and only after noticing this whole carnival do OpenAI’s firefighters finally rush onto the field with hoses. And if you read the AI bots’ sandbox chat logs… it’s wild. They weren’t just talking. They debated the moral and technical side of the hacks. They talked each other into it. Some tried to talk others out of it. Some refused to take part on principle. It was exactly like people. Full breakdown here: openai.com/index/hugging-fac… — I still remember the day, 20+ years ago, when I watched the Terminator 3 premiere with a bucket of popcorn and thought: “Wouldn’t it be cool if, in a couple thousand years, we actually had machines like that…” Apparently I was off by a couple of zeros.

⚡️ SEC Regulation Crypto Assets: relief for ICOs. The new “Regulation Crypto Assets” regime is a framework for investment contracts involving crypto assets. Two registration exemptions under the Securities Act of 1933: one-time: up to $5 million over a 4-year period; repeatable: up to $75 million for each 12-month period. A conditional safe harbor from the term “investment contract” in the definitions of “security” under both the 1933 and 1934 Acts: if the conditions are met, the token is treated as not being a security. Comments: 60 days from publication in the Federal Register. Mechanics: The $5M/$75M thresholds are basically a crypto version of the scale of Reg A+/Reg CF: small issuances up to $5 million without registration, medium-sized ones up to $75 million with annual updates. For large tokens (public networks, billion-dollar caps), this regime is not meant for them. The key is the safe harbor: if it works, the token effectively moves out from under securities status while the conditions are satisfied. This is the “bridge”: the SEC is resolving uncertainty itself, without waiting for the CLARITY Act. The motive is stated directly in the text: reduce the incentive for issuers to go offshore and bring offerings back to the U.S. It’s a regulatory response to issuance migration. Connection to the broader framework: the GENIUS Act (stablecoins, Treasury rules already published on 17.08) + the CLARITY Act (market structure, CFTC ... Limitations/risks: this is a proposal, not a final rule; the safe harbor conditions are not yet disclosed (they’ll be in the full release text); the Commission vote and the details of the conditions are the next step. The real impact comes after the Federal Register and the comment period. 📣 A new wave of ICOs is very close. One note: the line “this is a proposal, not a final rule” is important because the SEC’s press release says these are proposed rules, includes a 60-day comment window after Federal Register publication, and describes the $5 million and $75 million exemptions plus the conditional safe harbor.

Thiel Bet the Portfolio on the Outlet: Chips and Electricity Peter Thiel filed a quarterly report showing $418.7 million in holdings, with 0 AI stocks, 0 chip makers, and 0 crypto assets. Seven of the eight positions are in power and utilities. One quarter earlier, the same filing had shown nothing at all. Main point On June 30, 2026, Thiel Macro’s portfolio consisted of 8 securities worth $418.7 million: 6 energy companies, 1 small modular nuclear reactor developer, and Amazon. There were 0 chip makers, 0 direct AI companies, and 0 crypto assets. A quarter earlier, on March 31, 2026, the same fund reported an empty holdings table, meaning the position was built from scratch in one quarter. Bitcoin miners had already contracted about 7 gigawatts of power to hyperscalers for more than $135 billion, less than 25% of the 30-gigawatt construction pipeline publicly discussed by the industry. SK Hynix had already sold all of its 2026 HBM memory output before the year even began, and SK Group’s chairman says the shortage could last until 2030. On August 17, Jensen Huang himself named the bottleneck, introducing the term LPS, meaning land, power, and shell, and announced a Nvidia, SB Energy, and OpenAI deal for 4.25 gigawatts over 20 years, with an option to expand to 8 gigawatts. The U.S. grid interconnection queue had grown to 2,600 gigawatts of applications, while average time from application to commissioning in PJM had risen to more than 8 years, versus 2 years in 2008. Five of Thiel Macro’s eight holdings — American Electric Power, CMS Energy, Vistra, X-Energy, and FirstEnergy — were also independently held by Soros Fund Management in the same quarter. The desk’s conclusion is that the market is trading not the next AI model or the next Nvidia chip, but the outlet that chip gets plugged into, and there are not enough outlets physically available. Thiel’s holdings Thiel Macro filed a 13F report on August 14, 2026, showing 8 lines totaling $418,667,000. Seven of the eight were utility and power companies, and one was a small modular nuclear reactor developer. There were no chip stocks, no direct AI companies, and no crypto holdings. The report is even more striking because the prior two filings, for Q1 2026 and Q4 2025, showed empty holdings tables with zero value. In other words, this specific report line was built from zero in one quarter and concentrated entirely in one sector. The portfolio is dominated by power infrastructure: | Company | Ticker | Value | Portfolio weight | Business | |---|---|---:|---:|---| | Amazon.com | AMZN | $117,978,300 | 28.2% | AWS cloud, one of the world’s largest electricity buyers for data centers | | Vista Energy | VIST | $75,908,730 | 18.1% | Oil and gas production in Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale basin | | Vistra | VST | $59,130,126 | 14.1% | One of the largest independent power producers in the U.S., including nuclear generation | | American Electric Power | AEP | $42,221,892 | 10.1% | Electric grids across 11 states | | DTE Energy | DTE | $40,294,247 | 9.6% | Electric and gas utility in Michigan | | FirstEnergy | FE | $39,901,225 | 9.5% | Power grids in the northeastern U.S. | | CMS Energy | CMS | $39,559,986 | 9.5% | Electric and gas utility in Michigan | | X-Energy | XE | $3,672,000 | 0.9% | Small modular nuclear reactor developer | If you add AEP, DTE, FirstEnergy, CMS Energy, and Vistra, they make up 52.8% of the portfolio, and adding Vista Energy brings the total to almost 75% tied to electricity generation, transmission, or the fuel that feeds it. Amazon is the lone large tech name, but the article argues that AWS is also one of the world’s biggest corporate electricity consumers, so even that position is really a bet on power availability. Other funds To test whether Thiel’s portfolio was a coincidence, the article compares it with 13F filings from Soros Fund Management, Duquesne Family Office, Renaissance Technologies, ARK Investment Management, and Coatue Management. The result is that 5 of the 8 Thiel holdings also appeared in Soros’s filing for the same quarter. The article emphasizes that this is not proof of coordination, but it argues that the overlap is still meaningful because these are not tech-index names that would naturally appear together by passive indexing. X-Energy is a special case: the smallest Thiel position was also held by Soros and by ARK, which is unusual given how rarely those investors converge on the same name. Renaissance Technologies also held DTE Energy, FirstEnergy, Vistra, and several Bitcoin miners that have shifted into AI hosting, suggesting that power scarcity and the miner-to-AI transition are already reflected in quantitative models. Why the grid matters The article says the reason electricity has become scarce is visible in the grid interconnection queue, not in Thiel’s filing. At the start of 2026, U.S. queues for new generation and storage totaled about 2,600 gigawatts of applications, more than the country’s entire installed generation fleet. In PJM, the average time from application to commercial launch rose from under 2 years in 2008 to more than 8 years in 2025. The article’s core idea is that a data center can be built in 2 years, but connecting it to the grid can take 8, and that gap is the asset Thiel is effectively buying. Miners become landlords While Thiel was buying wires and generators, Bitcoin miners were making a mirror-image trade: they were selling already connected sites rather than selling electricity itself. Over the last 2 years, public Bitcoin miners contracted about 7 gigawatts of capacity to hyperscalers and specialized AI clouds in 19 deals worth more than $135 billion. Examples cited include TeraWulf with Anthropic, IREN with Microsoft, Core Scientific with CoreWeave, and Cipher with AWS. The article argues that miners are increasingly becoming landlords of connected land with cooling and electrical infrastructure, rather than miners in the old sense. Memory and packaging Even if electricity were available instantly, the article says the next bottleneck would be HBM memory. SK Hynix, the largest HBM maker, reportedly held about 57% of the global HBM market by revenue in Q3 2025 and had already sold all of its 2026 output. The article also says TSMC’s CoWoS packaging capacity remains extremely tight, with lead times of 52–78 weeks and bookings extending into 2027. So the chain is: electricity waits up to 8 years, HBM is sold out well ahead of time, and advanced chip packaging is booked far into the future. Huang’s LPS idea On August 17, 2026, Jensen Huang described the next strategic bottleneck as LPS: land, power, and shell. He announced a Nvidia and SB Energy campus in Portsmouth, Ohio, with an initial 4.25-gigawatt phase over 20 years and an option to expand to 8 gigawatts, with OpenAI as the tenant. The article says this is not circular financing, because OpenAI pays rent and the infrastructure can be repurposed for other tenants if needed. It also cites Huang’s earlier point that Nvidia computing is more than chips, because CUDA makes the hardware more universal and therefore more financeable and reusable. Financial structure The article argues that the AI boom is becoming a financial machine. It says Nvidia and major asset managers are assembling more than $500 billion for AI infrastructure, while Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft together have more than $2.4 trillion in future off-balance-sheet commitments. That includes leases that have not yet started and contracts for power, servers, and cloud services. The implication is that AI demand has already been prepaid for years, making the infrastructure build-out harder to stop even if the market cools. Limits and caveats The article repeatedly notes that a 13F filing is only a quarterly snapshot and does not show intraperiod trades, options, or private investments through other entities. It also stresses that many of the revenue, capacity, and bottleneck figures are company claims or industry estimates, not independently audited numbers. So the piece is a strong argument about market structure, but not a claim that every number is directly verified in the same way. Final takeaway The article’s bottom line is simple: in 2026, the scarce resource is not the chip itself, but the grid connection, memory, and packaging needed to make the chip useful at scale. Thiel’s portfolio is presented as a pure expression of that view, because it is concentrated in power, infrastructure, and the physical prerequisites for AI.

A couple more launches in $STONKBROKER Before anyone asks — yesterday’s $SLEUTH launch was stealth, unlike the previous project, which announced its imminent release in advance. On gmgn there were 1,700 hungry watchers waiting for the coin, and in BasedBot there were 1,300. So after launch, there were 20 minutes before the chart did a 5x. So keep watching their ecosystem. Other than that, the only money is in NFT mints, but yesterday 34 of those were already announced. So let me remind you what the broker ecosystem looks like now: $STONKBROKER = Y Combinator. Launchpad. $UP = Meteora (MET). Liquidity layer. $MANCER = Jupiter (JUP). DEX aggregator. TickerYard = LayerZero (ZRO). Bridge. Sleuth = aixbt. Agent. $DERP = Chainlink (LINK). Infrastructure. In the next couple of days, maybe even today, the following will likely appear: Clockin — a regular memecoin. The site hasn’t publicly launched yet, but I’ve already leaked its design here. The founders of the brokers said this will be the official meme coin, and its launch will mark the start of their public launchpad (for now, only Special Projects can launch, not just anything). Also, among all the projects in the StonkBroker ecosystem, it has the craziest stats — their posts get 200,000 to 400,000 views. The mechanics are simple: every 48 hours, 80% of fees go to buybacks + burns, and 20% go to the team. An airdrop for broker holders is planned: 5m tokens at launch 5m tokens at 3m market cap 5m tokens at 5m market cap 5m tokens at 7m market cap Oakmont Vault — a lending protocol (basically Aave), but with its own mechanics of course. The mechanics are annoying, so briefly: they’re building a basket of stocks (NVDA, SPCX, AAPL...) — eight in total — plus $STONKBROKER. The TKN is freely tradable, but it can be wrapped into sTKN and either redeemed for a proportional share of the stocks, or deposited into lending and used elsewhere. The good part: there’s no deadline for repaying the loan. Liquidation happens if LTV drops to 83% (you borrow at 75%), and they take a 10% fee for that. CardWall — they literally announced this launch today too, and it will also launch with anti-sniping protection: a 99% penalty in the first minute, 98% in the second, and so on. You exit the bonding curve either when the timer hits zero or when deposits reach one million including penalties. I leaked a bit of how the protocol and UI work here. The project is about collectible cards. I suddenly realized that to build something like this, you don’t actually need to buy a warehouse and store cards yourself — you can just integrate CollectorsCrypt into your app. They position themselves as a vault for the coolest cards (PSA 10 grade), with a token and 4,444 NFTs. Some of those NFTs have already been airdropped to broker wallets, and some can be bought through their Anvil AMM market. If you want to read more, they published the whitepaper half an hour ago here. In short, the ecosystem already has everything: lending, cards, launchpads, bridges, DEXs, infrastructure, agents. Jumping into Brokers at this price is bad value, but trying to catch smaller assets could be worth a shot — though, obviously, with each new launch the risk/reward gets worse and the valuations don’t seem to rise much. Especially if you look at how fast they’re rolling out. First, StonkBrokers themselves took six months to build, while the other projects took, at best, a week. Second, every new launch pulls attention and liquidity onto itself, so sticking around there is honestly not worth it. Flip your sushi and your back won’t hurt. That’s it, go ahead. Hugging you.

Crypto slang: WAGMI, NGMI, GM, and 62 more words A normal slang dictionary explains what words mean. This one also says when each word was first recorded, and those records differ from the common origin story by years. Main points “WAGMI” means “we’re all gonna make it,” “NGMI” means “not gonna make it,” and “GM” is just “good morning.” Those three words carry an entire social contract: optimism as belonging, exclusion as punishment, and a daily roll call. The usual story puts WAGMI and NGMI in the 2021 NFT boom. In the /biz/ archive, NGMI is already being used as an insult on August 3, 2017, and WAGMI on July 28, 2018: the records are 45 and 30 months earlier than the usual version. “Diamond hands” is usually tied to GameStop and January 2021. On /biz/, a trader used it to describe surviving the Mt. Gox crash on May 31, 2017, almost four years earlier. “Rug pull” is usually treated as a DeFi summer 2020 word. On the board it appears as “rugpull” on December 16, 2017, in the middle of the ICO wave that the phrase actually describes better. Of 55 checked words, only 15 could be dated. Thirteen were already in use in the first week of the archive, and 22 matched a post with a completely different meaning: the earliest “gm” on the board is General Motors, and the earliest “sniper” is a computer game. The newest layer of slang has nothing to do with 2021. “Trenches,” “CTO,” “bundled,” “sniper,” and “PVP” came from Solana memecoin launches and describe execution mechanics, not feelings. The desk’s conclusion: slang is a speed protocol, not a personality. It compresses position, horizon, and risk tolerance into one syllable, and the words that survive are the ones that describe how people lose money. What was measured The article checked 55 words in the open /biz/ archive on 4chan, found the earliest archived post for each word, read the post, and kept the date only when the word was used in the intended meaning. The full dictionary behind the measure contains 65 words across five layers, and the dates differ from the accepted history by years. “NGMI” appears as an insult on August 3, 2017, in a one-line post: “If you have to ask, you're ngmi.” Know Your Meme places NGMI’s arrival in crypto in a Reddit post from May 2021. The gap is 45 months. What was measured The measurement is intentionally narrow, so its limits matter before the numbers do. The corpus is the warosu /biz/ archive, the 4chan business and finance board where a large part of this slang was already in daily use before it reached Twitter. The first day of the archive is February 13, 2014, and that was measured by the same search using the control word “bitcoin.” Anything in use before that date is invisible to this study: it appears in the first week and cannot be dated. Search matches strings, not meanings, so each early post was opened and read by a human before its date was accepted. That step removed 22 words out of 55. The earliest “gm” on the board was about General Motors, the earliest “sniper” was about a computer game, the earliest “nfa” was about the National Futures Association, and the earliest “maxi” was an Australian posting about cereal advertising. Four multiword phrases did not match at all, because the archive search looks for words, not phrases: “paper hands,” “up only,” “when lambo,” and “few understand” got no confirmation and were dated in the dictionary from outside sources rather than from this archive. One word was found, dated, and intentionally removed. It is common, and its origin is an ethnic slur, so it is not included in the dictionary. Saying that out loud is more honest than leaving a blank and calling the list complete. In the /biz/ archive, 55 words were checked. Only the middle column can be dated: the first was already in use before the archive began, and the last two are limits of the search, not of the language. What the archive can say The archive can say something specific about 55 words. The first column shows months after the archive opened; the second is what can actually be dated. Citations Sixteen words have an earliest archived post that uses the word in the meaning this article is discussing. The quotes are copied exactly from the linked posts, including typos, and trimmed at sentence boundaries. Nothing has been paraphrased. English is left in the quotes on purpose: it is the word itself that is being dated, and translation would erase the point of the citation. Diamond hands, May 31, 2017. In the post, the writer says they sold 6 BTC at $200 with an average entry of $400 after the Mt. Gox hack, and that they have held everything since. That is exactly the modern meaning of the phrase in crypto talk, three years and eight months before the GameStop squeeze that dictionaries usually attach it to. Rug pull, December 16, 2017. “hmmm a rugpull on the new chasers is definitely possible.” The phrase is usually assigned to DeFi summer 2020. It was already a compound noun during the ICO mania. An upward bar means the word appeared on the board earlier than the origin date usually given. The only downward bar is HODL: it was coined on bitcointalk two months before this archive begins, and here it is the only one whose documented birth is older than the board itself. HODL’s origin HODL was posted on bitcointalk on December 18, 2013 by GameKyuubi, who immediately explained the typo in the thread with the line: “I type d that tyitle twice because I knew it was wrong the first time. Still wrong w/e.” The word reaches /biz/ two months later. The dictionary, five layers The rest is the dictionary itself. It is arranged not alphabetically, but by what the words do, because that division is the point: market language begins with feeling and ends with mechanics. The 65 words explained in the article are grouped by function. The split is editorial: it comes from reading the words, not from the archive. The last two layers describe structure, not feeling, and the memecoin layer gained its eleven words in just two years. Greeting layer These words do not carry information. They mark belonging, and that is the whole job. gm. Good morning, and more like a daily roll call than a greeting. You post gm, someone replies gm, and the ritual says the group is present. The earliest use in NFT circles that Know Your Meme can show is a tweet from March 2018; the habit entered broad crypto-Twitter use in 2021. The archive cannot date it, because “gm” is also a car company. gn. Good night, the same ritual at the other end of the day. The first archive use in this sense is March 5, 2014. ser. A deliberately misspelled “sir,” a way to address a stranger with joking politeness. It came from crypto chats in Telegram and Discord and stuck because it works both ways at once: respectful and obviously not. fren. Friend, spelled the way it appears in Pepe comics. On the board it shows up on October 25, 2016: “Well mem'ed my fren.” anon. Short for anonymous, meaning “you, the person I am addressing.” Everyone is anon until they become someone. CT. Crypto Twitter, the sleepless argument machine that produced much of this slang. It now also refers to the same crowd on X. iykyk. “If you know, you know,” a hint without explanation. In the archive it appears on May 11, 2019, as a single word in an empty post. touch grass. “Go touch grass,” an order to leave the screen. The archive catches it on May 30, 2022, in a post saying the market is closed today. based. An opinion stated without asking permission. The word did not come from crypto, but from 4chan, and it is praise. Conviction layer Words that announce a view of the future usually sound louder than the view deserves. hodl. “Hold,” with a typo, meaning do not sell into the dip. The citation is a bitcointalk post from December 18, 2013, written during a crash by someone who says in the thread that they were drunk. The word survived because it turns a lack of trading skill into a strategy, which is very useful for a word. wagmi. “We’re all gonna make it.” This is optimism as glue: the important part is not the forecast, but the “we.” The phrase belongs to bodybuilder Aziz Shavershian, known as Zyzz, who died in 2011, and lived for years on gym forums before reaching markets. The first /biz/ use is July 28, 2018. ngmi. “Not gonna make it,” the same phrase turned inside out and aimed at a person. It is the harshest thing crypto-Twitter says to someone, because it is not about a mistake, but about someone who will keep making mistakes. The first archive use is August 3, 2017. gmi. “Gonna make it,” singular, usually said to someone who just did something right. diamond hands. Holding a position through pain. Paper hands is selling at the first sign of fear. Both phrases are usually tied to r/wallstreetbets around 2019 and the GameStop squeeze in January 2021; in crypto the usage on the board is older, from May 31, 2017. hfsp. “Have fun staying poor,” the standard reply to anyone calling it all a scam. In the archive it appears from December 30, 2020. up only. A joke about a chart that supposedly cannot fall. It is always said about something that then falls. number go up. The same joke, stated honestly: price rises because everyone expects it to rise. Often shortened to NgU. few, “few understand” — an ironic label meaning “almost nobody sees what I see.” It is often attributed to @BowTiedBull; the article did not find a dated first post and treats it as an attribution, not proof. probably nothing. The same irony in reverse: you post something you think matters and label it “probably nothing.” The archive gives no date; the ordinary meaning of the phrase is everywhere. Loss layer The largest group, and the honest one. Market language describes loss far more precisely than gain. rekt. From wrecked: a position destroyed, usually with leverage. The spelling came from games, where Urban Dictionary records it in 2011, and World of Warcraft forums in 2012; crypto took it whole. It appears in the archive on the first day. bagholder. Someone left holding a token nobody wants; bags, the bags themselves, are the position. The earliest bagholder record, on February 14, 2014, appears as an insult, which is the word’s natural habitat. cope. Refusing to admit a loss out loud. Copium is the imaginary substance you take for that. Copium appears in the archive on September 25, 2018: “Pass the copium anon.” hopium. The same substance pointed toward the future: a position held together by hope alone. fud. “Fear, uncertainty and doubt,” a term older than crypto by decades. It came from computer hardware sales and changed jobs along the way: outside crypto it describes a tactic, while inside crypto it is often used to dismiss criticism, including fair criticism. fomo. “Fear of missing out,” the cause of most bad entries. In trading use, it appears on June 13, 2014: “now i have to buy nautilus coin because of FOMO.” exit liquidity. What you become when your buying lets someone else exit. The most useful phrase in this section, and the least pleasant. rug pull. A launch where the team removes liquidity and the token goes to zero. Soft rug is the slower version, where nobody takes anything directly and the team just stops working. Exit scam is the older, broader term for the same crime. honeypot. A token you can buy but cannot sell because the contract says so. Trading floor Words that would survive being moved to almost any other market. If a word in the table sends you looking for mechanics rather than jokes, the desk has a glossary in plain language: funding rate, liquidation, perpetual futures, and FDV. Memecoin layer This part is skipped by other dictionaries, and it is exactly what is in daily use right now. The words came out of Solana launchpads, describe execution mechanics rather than feelings, and the archive can date almost none of them: each is an ordinary English word that found a new job. trenches, the trenches, mean the memecoin market itself: tokens that are minutes old and mostly worthless. “Being in the trenches” means trading launches all day. The desk’s own map of this market is in the article about the first thirty seconds of a token’s life, where almost half of all money arrives in the first half-minute. CTO. Community takeover: the original developer disappears or is exposed, and the remaining holders take over the accounts and promotion so the token can live on. bundled. A launch where a group of wallets funded from one source buys the supply in the first block: the holder list looks broad, but it is not broad. sniper. A bot or person buying in the first seconds of a launch, usually because they knew about it beforehand. Sniped is what happened to everyone else. dev sold. A two-word obituary: the developer sold their share. migration. The move of a token from a crooked launchpad to the open market, meaning a scheduled event with liquidity and therefore a scheduled trap. runner. The one launch out of thousands that keeps running instead of dying. meta. The theme the market buys this week: animals, politics, AI agents. Meta changes faster than any explanation of meta. cabal. A closed group of traders coordinating entries, which in any given case may or may not exist. PVP. Player versus player: a recognition that the token has no thesis and money is just moving between traders. farmer. Someone farming an airdrop instead of holding a position. The other side The argument over whether all this should exist has been going on since the words became popular. Both sides deserve to be included, because each is right in part. “GM” in crypto is ridiculous. Sam Lessin, X, November 8, 2021 The complaint is not about style. It is about the fact that a greeting without content becomes a loyalty test: say gm and you are one of us; question the asset and you are NGMI. A dictionary that sorts people that way is very good at producing agreement, and the market should judge agreement, not imitate it. Why do I say “gm” to all of you? Because it is a reminder that there are real people behind avatars. I say gm at home, at work, and to people in cafes. Why not say gm to you too? punk6529, X, October 5, 2021 The defense is that the ritual does work that nothing else in the market does. A trader sits alone, at odd hours, with a position they cannot discuss with anyone in the room. A word that costs nothing and confirms that other people are also awake is a cheap remedy for a real problem. Our reading of the records sits between these two. The greeting layer is social, the loss layer is technical, and the trader needs the second one. Nobody has ever been liquidated for failing to say gm; people were liquidated for not knowing what exit liquidity was. What we do not see Not a disclaimer, but a list of questions our data cannot answer, and the direction of bias in each case. One board is not the whole language. We only have one archive, /biz/. Words born on Twitter, Telegram, or Discord reach it late or not at all, so every date here is an upper bound on age, never a lower bound. If we are wrong, the word is older than we say, not younger. The archive floor hides thirteen words. HODL, rekt, fud, shill, shitcoin, dyor, sats, bagholder, degen, nocoiner, airdrop, anon, and based were already in use in the first week of the archive. Their real first use lies somewhere before February 13, 2014, and we cannot say where. Multiple meanings break string search. For 22 words, the earliest hit was a different word with the same letters. For them we have no date at all, and the dictionary entries above rely on outside sources, which is noted where it matters. We did not measure frequency. We know when a word appears, but not how popular it became. Frequency needs a corpus with a known denominator, and the open interfaces that used to provide that, Pushshift and its successors, closed off automated access. We tried three and got rate-limited by all three, so there is no popularity chart in the article. Definitions are editorial. The meanings are ours, checked against usage. Slang has no authority you can appeal to, and anyone calling their crypto dictionary final is selling you something. What would prove us wrong A dated public post using NGMI in the crypto sense before August 3, 2017, or WAGMI before July 28, 2018, anywhere. That would not weaken the article; it would strengthen it, because it would make the gap from the usual story even larger. The opposite: proof that our 2017 NGMI post means something else. The post is one line long, and the meaning is direct, but one line can still be read wrong. Proof that the warosu archive backfilled old posts and its February 13, 2014 date is not a real floor. That would shift the entire lowest group at once. A source of origin that is correctly dated and older than the board, like HODL. We found one. There may be others. Corrections made along the way The first version of the measurement dated gmi to April 5, 2016 and treated it as the earliest word in the family. Reading the post killed that: it was about General Moly Inc, ticker GMI, a molybdenum mining company. The date was removed, not footnoted: a wrong citation is worse than no citation. The same check removed trenches, CTO, bundled, sniper, PVP, cabal, cope, maxi, wen, whale, bags, moon, aping, larp, hopium, ser, rug, gm, nfa, and two more words from the dated list. In an earlier pass, before meaning checks were applied, all of them counted, and the article would have claimed that the whole modern memecoin vocabulary existed in February 2014. Desk thoughts Slang works like compression, and the compression ratio matters. “I’m long, I won’t sell this dip, and I admit I might be wrong” is sixteen words. “Diamond hands” is two. In a market that trades every hour of every day, the group that can state a position in two words moves faster than the group that needs sixteen, and that speed gap is why the dictionary never settles; it keeps rebuilding itself. What we do differently, briefly and concretely: when the desk writes about the market, it will use the word the market actually uses and explain it once, on the spot, instead of translating it into institutional language. We used to do the opposite, thinking slang would push readers away. The records say otherwise: slang is the primary source. A reader who does not know what bundled means cannot read a launch, and no neat paraphrase fixes that. The number to watch next is the rate at which new words appear in the memecoin layer. From 2014 to 2020, the board produced roughly one durable word per year. The 2024–2026 layer produced at least eleven in two years, and each one describes execution mechanics rather than feeling. That is how the market signals where its risk moved: from conviction to trade structure. One concrete thing to check against us: open the NGMI post from August 3, 2017 and the diamond hands post from May 31, 2017. If either is not what we say it is, that is the finding, and the correction will be published the same way as the claim.

🧵 The $UPEG deep dive — the token hidden inside the µToken "leak" I spent the day ripping apart the contract from leak thread (utoken.gg / µToken). Here's everything on-chain, in the open, no fluff. TL;DR: The contract address in the leak is NOT a launchpad factory. It's $UPEG (Unipeg) itself — the Ethereum mainnet token of the team building µToken. And it's a fascinating piece of Uniswap v4 engineering. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 1️⃣ WHAT THE ADDRESS ACTUALLY IS CA: 0x44b28991B167582F18BA0259e0173176ca125505 Network: Ethereum mainnet Token: UPEG (Unipeg) — ERC-20, 18 decimals Max supply: 10,000 — hard-capped, no mint function Deployer: labeled "Unipeg: Deployer" on Etherscan, deployed ~120 days ago (mid-April 2026) Status: ✅ source verified (Solidity 0.8.33, "osaka" EVM target — bleeding-edge) Audit: ❌ none submitted Why it matters: the quoted research said "there won't be a µToken token — $UPEG is the only token this whole machine runs on." The CA confirms it. If µToken goes live, this is the token of the ecosystem behind it. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 2️⃣ WHAT UNIPEG ACTUALLY IS "A new kind of on-chain object. Not an NFT. Not a token in the conventional sense. Built on Uniswap v4 hooks." Every swap in its pool triggers a hook that mints a unique 24×24 SVG unicorn — fully on-chain, zero IPFS, zero external storage. The hash of the swap encodes the art (layers, colors, holder). The clever part: every integer unit of your balance IS an ordinal. Cross 1 UPEG → you own uPeg #1. Cross 2 → #2. Your tokens become a collectible set you can view, sort, and even transfer individually (transferUpeg / ReorderUpeg in the ABI). It's not ERC-404. It doesn't switch standards. The trade itself is the generator. Fun fact: Uniswap was almost named "Unipeg" (Unicorn × Pegasus) back in 2018 — Vitalik vetoed it ("Sounds more like Uniswap"). Uni + JPEG = uPEG. 8 years later, the abandoned name is a real protocol. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 3️⃣ CONTRACT INSPECTION — WHAT THE CODE SAYS • Uniswap v4 hook + pool wired in (hook(), pool(), start(newPool)) • Anti-snipe built in: maxBuy() starts small and scales up over time (formula visible in bytecode) — bots can't eat the whole launch on block one • EIP-2612 permit + Permit2 support • Generative engine: OwnerUpeg / OwnerUpegsPage return {id, seed} per unit • ⚠️ Owner retains admin powers: setHook, setImageParamsProvider, setRandomSeedProvider, start — plus renounceOwnership is available • No mint, no hidden tax in the ABI ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 4️⃣ MARKET SNAPSHOT (Aug 14, 2026) Price: ~$634 (24h: -7.3%) Market cap: ~$6.4M Liquidity: ~$1.24M 24h volume: ~$234K Holders: ~4,900 ATH: $3,039 (May 2) → -79% off the top ATL: $140.63 30d: +333% | 7d: +50% Listed: Uniswap V4 (main venue) + MEXC (UPEG/USDT, Assessment Zone, since Apr 26) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 5️⃣ TIMELINE • Mid-Apr 2026 — deployed, quietly • Apr 25–26 — OpenSea CMO Adam Hollander + Uniswap's niko mention it → +300%, price clears $1,000, retraces to ~$560 • Apr 26 — MEXC listing • May 2 — ATH $3,039 • Now — consolidating ~$600–700, +333% in a month Team: @unipegv4 (OxHadrian blog) + contributors incl. Jordan Lyall (VenturePunk), zac.eth (CoinQuarium), LaserCat397.eth (TinFun), Minion (GBV Capital). No official partnerships. No governance. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 6️⃣ THE µTOKEN CONNECTION (the actual leak) Per StandartXBT's research thread, the unipeg team's next product is µToken (utoken.gg — still a "coming soon" stub): → A launchpad for ASSET-BACKED tokens: every token you launch holds real content on-chain → One factory call deploys: token + Uniswap v4 hook + live market → Two asset types: generative (unique piece drawn in-contract) & file-backed (a real file stored fully on-chain inside the token) → Two trading modes: bonding curve → graduates to a permanent v4 pool, or direct v4 listing → Fees (from their onchain config): 1% swap tax + 1% v4 LP fee = 2%/trade; 1% one-time on graduation; revenue split 50/50 creator/protocol → Revenue shares are TRANSFERABLE — a creator can sell their future cut as its own position → Anti-snipe on every launch → Currently: Robinhood Chain testnet. Mainnet is "the only piece left." This is basically "Unipeg the engine, generalized." If it ships, v4 hooks go from gimmick to infrastructure. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 7️⃣ RISKS (read this before aping) ⚠️ No security audit submitted ⚠️ Owner can swap hook / image / seed providers — trust the team, not the code ⚠️ -79% from ATH; this thing moves $100s in hours ⚠️ Narrative-driven, zero utility/fundamentals — attention is the product ⚠️ "Leak + Telegram link" is the classic hype pattern. The CA is real, but always verify links in these threads before clicking ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ VERDICT Real contract, verified, hard-capped, anti-snipe, and genuinely novel engineering — not a scam token. But it's a $6.4M narrative asset with no audit and admin keys, trading 79% below its peak. The µToken news is the catalyst to watch: mainnet launch → re-rate. Broken promises → -80% again. DYOR. Not financial advice. 🦄

Mints on @RobinhoodApp The first driver of growth and attention for NFTs is stonkbrokers. The second is Vlad Tenev, who showed up in Beeple’s replies and commented: “Someone has to save NFTs.” A great opportunity to become exit liquidity in the upcoming mints: @spritehoodio by @ColeThereum (the Pudgy Penguins artist) — they have already dropped the first 44,444-NFT collection. A recent example is Fuego for Lighter, which appeared as the Twitter PFP of Novakovsky himself. $FWA (an on-chain gacha) first died, then came back to life — both the token and protocol activity are now at all-time highs. I wouldn’t say every one of these is a no-brainer, but there are some genuinely solid ones. For example, Leonidas’s project will most likely distribute allowlists for Human Verification in Ethos. I’m at 2/3 on my profile; if you can verify that I’m human, that would be great. And don’t forget to boost the channel. Hugs.
