it’s just harder to find Exactly what you want, but if you’re willing to sift through a lot there’s good fics there for sure! i feel like it’s a more adult forward user bases vs teen

ty 🤍 ive been on the way back machine all day archiving fics 😭 unfortunately i don’t read a lot of suuuuuper popular fandoms so a lot of my faves aren’t archived 😭 it’ll be okay tho

i have a database of my faves linked but when ao3 is back up and running i’m adding pdfs of all of the ones that don’t get lost :(

i’m not prepared for some of my fave fics to potentially not exist anymore :( an unscheduled break this long means the archive is likely in shambles and they’re having to rebuild it

also if ao3 is that important to you and you’re in the us remember to vote this and every election cycle to help protect all internet archives, archives are inherently political even fanfic websites.

if ao3 means so much to you and is such a big part of your daily life that you feel the weight of its absence now, let it also be a reminder about the importance of leaving kudos and comments even if its just a simple "i loved this!" to show writers you care about their hard work

righ!? like i enjoy a smutty fic too but i hate that that’s what fanfic gets reduced to by other people lmaooo like there are straight up masterpieces of fiction on there that basically just use someone else’s characters

i don’t think she super meant anything by it, but i think she def just associates fics with pure smut and was surprised 😭
