CPTSD has given me the most ridiculous relationship with asking for help. I can be drowning and someone will ask if I need anything, and I’ll be like, “Nope, I’m good!” Then I’ll go home and quietly wonder why nobody cared enough to force me to accept help. Apparently, I need people to break through a security system I built myself.
