Now that I have a new site, I've got a place for my random coding experiments. Here's a visualization of the Collatz conjecture.
Pick any positive whole number. If it's odd, triple it and add one. If it's even, cut it in half. Repeat until you reach 1.
27 takes 111 steps and climbs as high as 9,232 on the way. 28 takes 18.
Every number anyone has checked finds its way back to 1, but no one has proved they all do.
